I thought I'd throw together a cruise for this month before the Christmas/New year mayhem. The route should satisfy most with a taste of beach, hills, freeway and lights. :burnout:

MEET POINT 1- BUNNINGS CAR PARK PARAFIELD AIRPORT.
DEPART: 6:30 PM

MEET POINT 2 - ADELAIDE HIGH SCHOOL CAR PARK.
DEPART: 7:30 PM

The route details will be mapped and handed out on the night.

Finish point will be close to the city.

Let's make it a good one.:driving:

Sounds good mate.

How big a cruise are we talking (time/distance)? I would be meeting at Adelaide High (Parafield is a bit far for us Southeners!!).

Cheers.

I may give it some serious consideration but it depends on how my week unfolds and if i can get something sorted out with the car fri/sat depending on other situtions.

I have invited a mate with an BA XR8 to come along too. Others can invite XR owners too if they would like. The more the merrier.:xmas:

Well Chris,

hope the test run went smoothly, just wondering if there were still road works going on at the time of your run.

Bloody road works they ruin any good tunnel run.

will see how my day goes as to whether i will be out cruising or not, depends on couple of urgent repairs.

vxtreem
18-11-2006, 01:10 PM
Yes it's all good.

No road works.

Weathers spot on for us again.

The numbers are a little dissapointing but I'm sure those attending should have a bit of fun.

Also for SA members who would like to be validated this is a prime opportuinty to get it done - that's if you meet the requirements.

Thats cool then as the has been down to one side and split traffic for last few nights, and 40km/h

Sounds like chris did a good job by all accounts,

anybody can have input into the cruise routes as they are open to suggestion and ideas are thrown around at the cruise before and a general plan from those who attend is taken then it is then opened up on the forum before hand and majority rules.

I am sure that the other organisers would have no problem if people want to help plan the cruises, as it is not just one persons idea's as explained above.

The last cruise fell on indy etc so there was a small turn out and thats why it was opened up on the forum as usual for ideas.

There are a number of cruises in november there is one this Sunday that i saw on the forum aswell.

But at the end of the day it is horses for courses, some like street racing at every light, some like to actually stretch the legs of their cars so they dont get that city habbits instilled in them (stop start).

Me im up for both, but thats just me. but i like the social atmosphere of going for drive for a counter meal and checking out the sights, buildings tend to get boring after awhile, and i hate sitting in traffic at the best of times.

Maybe the fact im over 30 and am sick of the gutter crawling scene or it could be the country lad in me.

You can take the boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy.

nah he was just some tool that drove past us at our last stop and wanted to show off his driving performance through the chicanes in the car park and hit the gutter, broke the concrete and kept driving :lmao: . Makes me laugh everytime I remember it.

Thats it....the stop start of driving around the city especially in a group can be rather tedious and boring....Especially seeing how a lot us do it monday to friday driving to and from work etc!

And theres only so much coast line driving one can do in Adelaide these days - who's bright idea was it to put speed bumps in?! Argh!!!

Plenty of scenic drives on some good cruising roads - few nice straights and good twisty winding bits - within an hour of adelaide, whether it be through the Adelaide hills to say the Barossa or down Goolwa Victor way etc through Strath or something like that. Find a random little pub along the way for a meal and keep on motoring.

Even the diehard concrete building lovers would surely have to agree with such drives being just lovely (that sounded kinda gay didnt it! but oh well!)

Thanks to those who came along and also for the compliments.

VYSSblack & Toddler78 we are arranging validation for you - that's if you would like to be validated??

I learn't alot on organising a run and when I throw another one together it should be better again.

With Justin doing one for Dec 9th it probably won't be until Jan after the silly season. Iv'e also got shutdown maintenance and I'll be flat out for two weeks.

How about a tnentative date of Jan 20th Sat.

That should give toddler78 plenty of roundabout practise - that is getting off them and not at funny angles either.
Should give brad enough time to get those turbos on and show us how good it is.:up2sum:
It should be enough time for that black VE to be broke in..... or was that done already.
Should give that VRX driver plenty of time to get that chicane right and the chassis put back square - he's probably out practising now.:limpy:

While on the topic of SA.

Saturday night I pulled up next to a simply awesome sounding (I'm almost certain it was) a Silver VY II Clubsport 285 Manual. Not sure about the 285i though, maybe 285 at the rears :P as it had a very very nice deep thumping lope.

I would have to say it is the toughest LS1 I have heard. Simply awesome.

Also had much better up and go off idle than the usual ls1 also. :P
Not having a great deal of experience with LS1's and I would have expected such a cam to give it a doughy low end. But not the case. :P

Some years ago I used to own a VS 5ltr 5speed, did the cam, ecu, single 3.5" and the cam made it noticeably doughier under 3k but did pull nicely until just over 6k.

Awesome car buddy.

Be interesting to know what this persons done! I've managed to get an almost old school 350 Chev type note out of my SS ute, but as a result I've lost some power, used to be rnd 245rwkw but now is a lot doughier.

Hi guys,

I like the idea of 20th January.

Mine is to slow at the moment. has been for awhile. nothing a tweak here and there wont cure.

But then again if all goes well i may even have mine functioning by the 9th depends if i can pin point the gremlins.

Will be a case of wait and see and trial and error, doesnt help with xmas coming up and couple of unexpected hospital visits lately.

but im looking forward to a decent cruise car needs a workout hasnt had one for awhile.

keep us all informed

Hey klink,

Whats wrong with the vx? Nothin serious I hope.

Well it really depends on what you call serious,

driveshafts or diff not 100% sure but thinking along the lines of the driveshafts at this stage and they are not real cheap for gueniune at about 430 a side plus fitting

yeah that would have been interesting :driving: I run mine at 40psi, but it still feels like a shopping trolley with the standard syspension, I think Ill wait till xmas then dump it again ready for the nex cruise then bring on the twisties round abouts and anything else that requires opposite lock driving:yup:

January 21st cruise thread here. (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=67906)

No real reason for a sunday cruise other than it's the only free day i got for the next three weekends. We will see how the numbers go if it's no good someone would have to take the reigns for another day as I won't be available.
