I know a bloke who paid that much for the V6 version. In these times of tight fuel economy, I'd be twisting the dealer's arm a lot harder - especially for a V8.

If you want a good deal, I'd wait until May/June next year because dealers will want to clear stock before the end of the financial year. From experience, January is also a good month to buy a car.

Doubt that would work as it seems the V8 Calais V's are selling themselves.

They may be now Wonky, but that is only because supply is not keeping up with demand at present.

Once the first rush has subsided, there will be 'discounts' and 'specials' as per usual.

Good luck to everyone who buys the VE, but I would prefer to wait for a while before deciding to purchase, so as not to become a de-facto test mule (as some have - unfortunately).

Cheers,

Macca

So, as a lease car do we assume that price doesn't include GST? (It apparently gets included in payments, not the up front price so I believe.)

No that includes GST it was about a $7000 discount. It was hard work visited emailed and rang about 10 dealers. Guess l got lucky considering it was towards end of January. l dont think the dealer had much margin left but was happy to give a really good price.

I would consider $57,500 a good deal on a Calais V 6.0L V8 with no options and 12mths rego.
I base this on having paid $53,300 for a white SS V Auto.
