If you have any plans for suspension modifications, please avoid Wilkinsons Suspension Centre in Bayswater.

I had to take my SSZ Ute back there twice soon after getting suspension modifications because of a loud squeak coming from the rear suspension. Then I had to go back there again to report some damage to my Ute they had caused by leaving my stock shock caps loose under my bonnet. When the bonnet was closed, one of the caps put a hole through the plastic cover above the firewall.

When I reported the damage to the owner (Peter Wilkinson) he argued, then stormed off and returned to shove the money for the repair work in my face, then told me to leave the premises and that my warranty was cancelled because I kept on returning, then he repeatedly insulted me.

Not professional.

Noted, and will strongly recommend people not to go there.. Some people may say "what difference will a 16/17 year old make?". But when I'm the car buff among all my mates, and they all want their cars lowered, I'm the one they talk to.

Congrats Wilkinsons Suspension Centre, you just lost a bucketload of customers.. (not only from me, being badmouthed on LS1 is baaaad publicity..)

is that name correct? not that it effects me but tried to look that name up in the yellow and white pages business with no result.

the guy sound like he has great customer service. just interested in taking your money for a poor job. look at sonny in comparison for his customer service, thats how it should be.

Can they cancel your warranty like that? I would be contacting consumer affairs or someone similar.

ALL PERTH PPL STAY AWAY FROM WILKINSONS SUSPENSION CENTRE.

i have noted it many times in various threads on this forum.
if you want someone in perth to lower your car then make the trip to WA SUSPENSIONS in Osborne Park. if you really want talk to Brad and tell them Dean with the black R8 and his old blue VT sent you. they will look after you and your car.

i have found Wilkinsons to be slightly cheaper a couple of extra $$$ go to WA Suspension

they couldnt wheel align my dads patrol. went back 3 times then got told that something wrong with car.....
if they couldnt do that i wouldnt trust any of my cars.
also have mates that didnt listen to me when i told them but to save a couple of $$$ they went there and cost them a whole lot more in the end....

STAY AWAY

also pedders in osborne park knows squat as well.....

when i find ppl i go back time and time again because even if they are a little more expensive i would rather pay a little extra know i got a top job done without hassles. WA Suspensions spent so much time troubleshooting my VT time after time and didnt ask for a cent.

Don't see how that's gonna affect them since they're in Perth.

I got my VT lowered by them for $820 king ultralows/short shocks all round and camber kit. Although that was trade price, but I'm sure you'll get them to about 1100 or so.

Didn't have any problems with it.

not sure if there is a difference with utes....but my VT got lowered springs (lovells), KYBs shorter shocks at the rear, camber kit, 4 wheel alignement for under $1K.

go to WA Suspensions to lower your car....one of if not the best in the business in WA.

WA Suspensions quoted me $550 and Wilkinsons $450. For the $100 I'll go to WA Suspensions, especially as it is a new car. I don't need the hassles...

Thanks for your comments...

I've received and accepted an apology from Wilkinsons Suspension Centre.
They said that my warranty would still be covered also.

I think that price would be for Lovells springs.
Not sure if Eibach's are available yet for the VE, but if they are and the budget stretches to them I think you will be very happy.

ps: Rod & Kay (WA Suspensions) supply them as well.
Recently fitted a set to our CV8 and am very happy with them!:woot: :woot:

g'day

ive previously had work done by wilkinsons suspension, and will say that they are a very professional outfit who know exactly what they are talking about, an di would highly recomend them over any other suspension shop in w.a.

I know many people who are always happy with work done there and my stepdad who owns a peformance shop himself and also highly recomend them.

+1 recomendation for me for wilkinsons and will always recomend them above the rest, do yoursleves a favour and dont let one persons view or bad experience tarnish there reputation and credability, this slander you may find is also slightly illegal and you could end up going to court for this kind of thing if i am correct.

cheers, thats my view, tom. hope this doesnt cost wilko's any buisness as i am sure this would be a one off error.

We'd get flamed for doing this in the UK (actually posts are deleted). Difficult one though, my first 2-week old Monaro was wrecked by the 'dealer' who had it for accident repair (after 4 nearly months). It is wrong that the facts cannot be stated on boards like this, but then I 'spose the view is there's always 2 sides.....

Anyway, glad you got the problem sorted.

Thank you to all our loyal custmers for your support , we very much appreciate it and we do endevour to please our customers.
This situation did get out of hand when the owner of the vehicle found that one of the staff had left a plastic strut top nut cover sitting on his firewall,
and it had slid down and broken a part of the plastic grate .
The customer was very agitated when he came in to show us .We offered to fix the problem and replace it for him,he refused to allow us to touch the vehicle and quoted a price to have the problem solved .
Hence Peter compensated him by handing (not shoving it in his face)him the money to get it fixed.
Both the customer and ourselves have spoken since and agreed that the situation did get out of hand .We apologised and told the customer that if he would allow us to touch his vehicle ,that we would gladly help him if he had any warranty concerns. He said that currently everything was fine.
The customer and ourselves have both contacted the forum administrators to have the post removed .Merry Christmas to all!

unfortunately being humans we do tend to get off tap and words get thrown around, especially when it involves our pride and joy.

good to hear this was resolved between the workshop and owner.
