I am trying to fit the largest rear tyre possible under a VX Monaro coupe. Gaurds have been rolled and off-set 10" rims have been fitted. I know a 275 will fit but is it possible for 295's to work?

Yes, I have inquired about mini tubbing. I wanted to squeeze in the largest I could before going to the extra expense

Fit the tyres you want and make them fit.

Also if you already have rims made that are 10inch wide then 275 is a little thin for 10inch wide rim. Also if you made the offset so the 275 just clears the outter guard then putting a 295 tyre will cause it to hit the outter guard. That means the offset of the wheels should be slightly further in for the wide tyre.

Did you take this into account?

Minitubs can be done quite cheap, I would fit the 285 tyre see where it touches and then angle grind the section and weld in a panel. Then paint it all up and put the carpet back in.

Thanks for the advice Maz.

The offset on the rim can be ultered if required. I would like the tyre to sit just inside the lip of the guard and obviously in as far as possible.

Wow, thats impressive!

What did the tubbing cost you?

There wide but man it dosent suit a commodore.Its looks abosolute awfull.
