I'm very impressed with the Design and layout of the LS112 kit and like many enthusiasts aren't sure in what order to do things to acheive a compliant install. I have in the past fitted a 9.6lb Roots blower with Modified manifold, stage 2 cam and 36lb injectors to a street VP V6 myself ( obviously wasn't legal so removed it after 9 months). So feel competant installing the Harrop kit.
For all others and myself I have and would like to know the following if possible:- ( questions open to any experts out there)
1- I have a 5.7 VX SS with only 4-2-1 extract, twin 2.5 exhaust + PCM upg.
2- Will buy a Harrop Kit 112-75
3- Plan to fit it myself.
4- Plan to find a friendly insurance company!! And advise of all mods.
5- Would like to have vehicle registered in NSW with mods/ certificate of compliance.
**For this (the important stuff) will vehicle need engineering certificate to be registered?
What current compliance does the Harrop kit have and be valid for if I fit it my vehicle?
What else do I need to prove to an Authority or engineer to get the Nod of approval?
6- Do I need bigger brakes than the SS ones.
There are a few questions here so I really appreciate any qualified info that is posted.
Thanks in advance,
Azimuth

I am not sure about NSW, but to be fully compliant in Vic an engineer's cert will be required.

We have been doing compliance for the LS112-92-IC kit in a VZ, which will not be entirely correct for the non-intercooled 75 kit. An engineer's certification will be needed for the installation.
Do I need bigger brakes than the SS ones.
We would (of course) recommend an upgrade - perhaps our Performace kit (under $4000 for 4-piston all round) - but the supercharger compliance does not require alternative brakes.
I am not sure about NSW, but to be fully compliant in Vic an engineer's cert will be required.
I am planning on getting a LS112-92-IC (amongst other things) installed in my 04 V2 Monaro. (In Vic)
What exactly is involved with getting a engineer's cert?
Are there different ways of getting it done?
How much would it cost?
I have been told that if I dont have the cert, I could be told to get the mods removed if stopped by an officious police person.
Sorry for asking, but I have never really seen a simple answer. Lots of people with their opinions.

I would be inclined to move step 2 to step 6 and move the others up, homework before parting with your beans would be a wise order :yup:

An engineer's cert can be arranged by your installer, or we can put you in contact with some options. They will check that the install is as per the original, and that all safety issues have been adhered to (return springs etc). They should also check the tune for emmissions, but I doubt that they could/would. I would guess the check will cost $800-$1000 as they will reference the original certification documents for most of the criteria.
I only know of one vehicle that has been deemed "wrong" by the police ... but it had Nitros and was about 50mm off the road. It was 'stickered' because of the other issues, not the supecharger. I have been stopped and had the GTO inspected several times, and most of the officers are more interested in having a look and knowing about it than worrying about the exact legalities.
I need to point out that we are not building the LS112 kits any more ... they have been superceeded by the new HH112 & HH122 which both use the advanced Eaton Hybrid rotors which are significantly more efficent.
Consequently, we have yet to get certification for the new HH-series.
I am trying to choose between one of the last LS112 or a HH112 or HH122.
Which would be appropriate for an 04 V2 Monaro?
I could not find the HH112/HH122 on the Harrop web site.
Do you have any product spec PDFs?
What would be a the wait time on the HH* products?
(I was hoping to get something in 2 weeks)

If the engine is relatively standard, the LS112 or HH112 would both be good choices (I am suprised there are any LS112's available).

Email me via ken@harrop.com.au and I will send what we have on the LS112. We do not yet have anything for the HH112.

We will have nothing for the LS1 until mid/late December :bawl: , but we do have a very limited number of HH122-LS2 ready now.
If you want it installed before Christmas, I suggest the LS112 is your best bet.

I actually booked my ute in to get the LS112 IC 92 on the 11 dec through G&D but they rang me soon after and said there wont be any LS112's available until the 15th dec. So i was looking to get it done at the end of january as i cant get on the boat till then.
Is there any point of getting one of these now they're superseeded or will there be any available to purchase, what to do, Vortech????????

The only reason the LS112 is not available is it is now an "old model" ... it has been replaced by the better HH112 which is in stock & available immediately. The HH112 is a very similar design (probably only notice the difference if they are side-by-side) but has significantly more power potential.
If you liked the LS112, you will love the HH112.

Nice, would the HH122 be alright on stock engine or would it produce less power on the engine as standard, cause i'd be looking to change the cam, heads etc and about 2-3 yrs or should i go HH112. And is the whine quieter or louder or noticeable at all.
Are either of these going to be available for me to get fitted at the end of january '07.
Cheers, Trent.

I have a HH122 on a stock LS2 engine (except valve springs & exhaust) and it is outstanding (>360rwkW). If you are going to do a mild cam the HH112 would be a good choice, but the HH122 will support bigger cams easier.

There is negligible supercharger noise until the engine is under boost as the supercharger is basically free-wheeling (draws less than 0.3kw while cruising). When you put you foot into it, the sound is certainly audible ... similar to the LS112.

They are available now, and assuming we can keep up with demand we should have more available in January.

So the 122 is probably the better option to go for even if the engine is standard for only $700 odd bucks extra???

Hmmmm ... Seems like exceptionally good value when you put it like that! (It is actually $770 more).
Perhaps we should charge more for the HH122 ??? :stick:
