Hi everyone,
I have a VT Calais, and recently bought a new white dash insert (The thin plastic piece with all the numbers and things) to replace the stock ugly calais one.

As soon as i recieved it, I eagerly ripped apart my dash, took the actaul dash facia unit inside, but cant seem to get the needles off? The 4 needles on the dash (fuel, tacho, speed, temp) just dont seem to budge.

Do they just pull off with excessive force? or is there a hidden screw or clip that i simply cannot see?

From looking under the needles, it just looks like a hollow plastic tube connecting the needles to the rest of the dash.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks!

Best way is by using a fork with light force pull it out slowly.

what Aus8 said, if you use a knife or anything other than a fork it is very easy to bend the shaft the needles slide on too

yep a good ol fork will do the trick. A hint tho is when u put them back on
1: make sure they are not rubbing on the facia
2: u will see that after u put them on the will fall back to a starting postion. MAKE SURE U PHYSICALLY MOVE THEM BACK TO THE CORRECT START POINT!!!!!
otherwise al your reading wil be out
hope this helps
