help : 300 kw maf pipe

Drove to Mcrea White Holden in Wodonga and purchased a 300 kw mafe pipe for $190 part no : sv - 06m3030602. Problem is i showed it to a mechanic and he said it was 285kw version which i believed. So i purchased another 1 off him (i will just return the old one). Problem is; i just viewed a 300kw maf pipe in one of the forums thread, and it looks like the one i got from holden (4" from one side, with a smaller opening on the other).

the 300 is just a Plain Pipe

cheers mate. exactly what i have got. the one from holden (the sales assistant told me it was a 300 kw maf pipe) has the logo and the other hasn't.

If your car has a MAF, you should use the one with the logo. Don't be tempted to think having the 300 one will actually perform better with a MAF.

i will be getting a mafless tune after new year. out of curiosity, are the 300kw hsv's maffless

You would be better off waiting until then if you have the proper 300 one, as the boot is designed to clamp on to the bigger diameter of the air cleaner snout. There are serious compromises using this boot on to a MAF, which is noticeably smaller in diameter than this boot was designed for, not to mention too long.

Mate if your going to go MAFLESS save your money and get an OTRCAI. It will perform much better than the GTS pipe. Sure it will cost you a couple of hundred bucks extra. But just keep an eye on ebay and you might get one a bit cheaper. I got my PT one for $425 off a guy selling them at work.
