i have a ex cop chaser 2001 vx ss [white, sedan], and first thing i want is the clubsport [or look alike] body kit.
im having troble finding one.
where in sydney can you get one?
can you get them second hand at all? (im a painter, if second hand is cheaper that will do)
how much will i pay?
for new i will probably pay more than if i had an executive just cause i have a ss right? (people think coz you have a semi decent car you are made of money)
thanks in advance

Twing, this should be in General Automotive or the Tar Pit, this is "Forum help and feedback" ie- issues and problems pertaining to the LS1 forums.
Just letting you know for future posts.
For the kit you'd be best off contacting nickh @ NVU, you can go to their website: http://www.nvu.com.au and contact him from there, PM him, or you can post up a request in the NVU forums in the Sponsor section.
Or you could check out SSV (Sydney Special Vehicles), here's a link to the bodykit you're after: http://www.ssv.com.au/cache/item-15590public.html?cache=no

Moved ...
As for wwhere to get it .. try the sponsors Holmart or NVU. I think that SSV one is a copy and non genuine.
It won't be cheap for a genuine one tho, you're looking at around $2500 unpainted just for a front bar and all the bits.

sent nvu a email, around $5000 will get me the genuine vx clubsport kit. then i have to dish out for painting and installation.
granted it is geuine, so you'd expect absolute top quality, but i could take my car to jetspeed and get any damn kit i want custom fitted to my car for that price...
surely there is a cheaper solution than that; i see executives and berlinas driving around every day with the clubsport kit, and i doubt that they are fitting $6000 bodylits to cars worth $8000...
so is there any cheaper kit? has nobody got a clubsport kit cheaper than $6000? even a look alike would do.
can you buy the kit second hand from a wrecker or anything?

That's the link I posted before, pretty sure it's non genuine :yup:
Only thing you'd have to add would be a berlina boot w/ lights.

are you sure its for a vx? i thought it may be a typo/ mistake on ssv's part, coz the car in the picture is not a vx, it has the wrong headlights...? the kit in the pic wouldnt fit my car.
the price is more reasonable though.
why would i need a berlina boot though?
thanks so far, much a ppreciated!

I have a VX SS bar sitting in the garage that i got off Ebay. Wrong colour for the car (obviously will repaint) but in excellent condition. Got it for $54

The vx HSV doesn't have the little curved section for the high beam lense. To replicate a HSV, you also need to change your headlights. This is also the reason for the rear berlina boot, as the HSV's came fitted with this also. There may be other body kits out there somewhere that dont require you to convert your headlights, but i dont know where to get them. Headlights should cost you about $4-600 to change.
Why not check your local wreckers to see if anyone has recently written off their HSV, and see if you cant scavenge parts that way.

the SSV one is just a bolt on one which you'll find bolts on over the executive side skirts (grey), the SS bar has a grove design in it towards the rear. You'll more then likely find you'll need a genuine side skirt and bumpers as nothing will bolt on over the existing kit.
Twing ... if you do end up taking the bits off let me know as I wouldnt mind buying the side skirts and rear bumper if they go cheap enough (mines got an SSV kit on it a.t.m. but I wouldnt mind bolting genuine ones on)

ok, that explains the head lightes in the ssv pic. that must be a genuine hsv or they have replaced the lights yes?
so if i get the ssv kit i need the headlights too, or do i only need them if i get the genuine hsv kit?
i found this kit, its by talon. looks similar to the hsv kit. ill get the genuine wing instead of that horrible looking wing tho. seems to fit without new headlights, but pics arent great.
