Green VE SSV

hey guys
tonight i was eating on keilor road and i spotted an SSV with the HSVi 20's and it was GREEN. it was a colour ive never seen before on any holden, it was like a candy green and i rekon it looked awesome! im guessing it must be a test colour for the next model?? anyone else seen it around the essendon area in vic? it might've come from preston motors holden which is on keilor road.
and sorry i didnt get any pics :(

Hothouse is my fav previous "hero" colour.

i believe this is a colour for VF Range and is the design heads personal vehicle. its ment to be very similar to that colour which was on the SSX concept vehicle.

Thanks Nickh. Gotta say I've been dissappointed with the "hero" colours from Holden. Nothing has every really grabbed me to the point of wanting a car in one of those colours.

some VZ's are going for auction through holden to dealers in "TEST" colours, saw one one the network news letter and it was a light candy green SS sedan.

It was my fav too, just the missues wont let me forget it if they release that colour soon after I just got my new one.

From memory the SSX (my absolute fav holden vehicle which i wish they released) the colour was called Kryptonite and was houhouse green with an extra metalic or gloss coat of somesort

The SSX colour was a bit lighter than hothouse with a pearl of some sort over it. I hope it is like this colour....probably wont be as good though cos it would be a very expensive paint job.

Its an exciting colour for us in the paintshop as is MORPHEOUS which is a cross between impulse and cosmo a nice blue with purple pearl, being released feb,

No word on when crunch will be released, but its passed its test stages.

yeah i loved hothouse and i think this green looks heaps better. just looking at it in dark light you could see the pearls and metallics in the paint, it was just unreal. im SPEWIN i didnt get a photo. if anyone see's it do your best to get one!!

Greg, that's what I like to hear. Sure there are the stable colors that last from generation to generation but to try something new and exciting is good to hear.

Now you guys need to work on a black with a red pearl highlight to it.

Hey guys i will do my best to get a picture of one of the Crunch cars, I'm not going to risk my job too much trying to do it though, as camera phones, and camera's aren't allowed through the main gates.
If i can get a picture it wont be heaps close up and the quality might be a bit poor but i will see what i can do.

I might even just ask one of Holden's photography people if he can take a few picture's for me as they are allowed to use camera's on site.

But I will see how i go.

I'm with him, no point loosing your job over it, I'm sure that there will be someone outside the front gates of the various Holden factories with a camera some time soon. As nice as some of the others in here are, I doubt that anyone would be in any position to help you out if you got the sack.

Having said that, since you work there, (sorry to hijack the thread) are there any production delays that you are aware of? The way my SSV is going, I might be able to change to one of the new colours before it is built.

Got any pics of Morpheus? Your description of it sounds good but knowing it was coming I asked about it on here a while ago knowing that I would soon be ordering an SS-V. Someone found a picture of a VZ SS obviously done as a test colour and I thought it looked :spew: It was sort of a light Cadbury colour but the feeling was that that was what Morpheus was.

I've just ordered my SS-V but if that wasn't Morpheus and it is as nice as you make it sound I'll be forever kicking myself. :mad:

Thanks John. That's the colour someone came up with when I started the thread on Morpheus last time but wasn't how I interpreted Greg's description of "a cross between impulse and cosmo a nice blue with purple pearl.

From that description I imagined it would be darker and more bluish. That colour is absolute :spew: :spew: :doh:

I've whipped a few up, including Devil yellow, Turismo blue and jkgmh's Morpheus. They definitely aint spot on, but it's interesting to not that Turismo is on the exact 'hue' colour slider as Ignition.

I think the Hot-House style green looks horn, as does the Turismo, wasnt a fan of it on the 4 door VZ series, but from that picture it looks great on the VE

I think this is one of those colours that has the potential to look a lot better in the flesh than a photo.
This is true of most colours with a peal. Depending on the camera angle and light the camera may either pick up the pearl or the base colour. In this case i think its picked up the pearl and looks a lot like a cadbury car and looks :spew: . Would like to see one in the flesh though.

it took 7 years for the Tiger Mica to reappear, so the Hothouse should be back in 2009.

anyway, I wish Holden would expand their colour range for the Hero cars. I would be tempted by a yellow or the green for my next car if they were choices.

the only downside to the Morpheous colour is that there is only one choice for the interior colour (Onyx).

assuming the G8 - http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=826150&postcount=1 - is equivalent to a SS, then there looks like another version of green in the pipeline.
