Many of the ATVs currently sold in Europe are homologated for on-road use as “quadricycles”. Virtually all of today’s rider active, street-legal, homologated quadricycles are off-road vehicles that have been adapted for on-road use. With the Revolver concept, Polaris proposes a new solution – A purpose built vehicle designed to deliver good off-road performance combined with a new level of on-road capability.

Revolver provides an awesome new experience with an uncommonly urban edge of sharp, aggressive attitude. A powerful 500cc liquid-cooled 4-valve engine stands at the ready, while a 5-speed transmission, disc brakes and massive, meaty tires see to it that the maximum amount of power goes where it should – both on and off-road.

Revolver doesn’t stop there. A super-duty suspension with a radically lowered and widened stance guarantees absolutely superior any-road cornering. Plus, its hydraulic steering dampener and long wheelbase add even more stability on all surfaces. In addition, Revolver is designed to allow a passenger to come along on the ride.

The design of the Polaris Revolver includes such appointments as supple Italian leather seating, low-profile “floating” fender designs, modular deep-dish alloy wheels and stunning “light ring” headlights. Every sculpted detail works in concert with one another to create a look and feel that reflects the unheard of experience and attitude this vehicle provides.

What’s more, state-of-the-art iPod® instrumentation and entertainment system will see to it that you and your passenger are always in tune with your ride.

The Revolver concept debuted at the Paris Motorcycle Show earlier this month. The Motorcycle Design Association nominated the Revolver as one of eight vehicles to be considered for their “Best of Show” award.

Revolver could be the quadricycle of the future…and the future might be a lot closer than you think.

Developed and built by a KiWi who decided to blend a WRX with a quad bike.

The Revolver is an interesting concept but I am wondering why you would want to ride one on the road, they are a blast on loose surfaces where you can slide them around but hooking one of these into a corner too fast on bitumen has visions of it rolling to me, two wheels are more than enough for road use :yup:

Oh it has an iPod system too, seems every manufacturer is jumping onto this bandwagon

I would buy one in a second.
If you have ever ridden an ATV on the road in the wet you will know it is the best fun you can have.
I think the price would probably be more likely around $20,000 - $25,000,
Then another $10,000 on modifications to get some serious power out of it.

ATV's need to be brought into the country with compliance plates, that is the only way they will ever be allowed on the street.
A few years back I spoke with an engineer about getting one road registered,
unfortunately because they have 4 wheels they come under the same ADR's as a car (need seatbelts, windscreens, windscreen wipers etc).
Oppylock and myself even contacted the RTA a few years back trying to find out how we could get ATV's registered, but no luck.........YET !!!

Don't have anymore info sorry but I really want one too!
I've seen the Kiwi STI quad a few times before, Motor did a write up on it and believe it was built by "Brodrive":lmao:
I ridden my quad on tar sealed roads heaps of times (private of course) on tar sealed roads and they quite easy and fun to ride. This is with offroad tyres, long travel suspension and solid rear axel. If you lowered the ride height, firmed up the suspension, fitted road tyres and an independant rear it would be far safer than any motorcycle. Especially on wet or broken up roads and emergency braking.
My brother and I have looked into registering quads for the road but they have to meet all the ADR's cars are expected to which means wipers, seatbelts ect. Would also have to supply five vehicles for crash testing. Such BS as people who ride trikes are not even required to wear helmuts. Quads would make a fantastic vehicle in the city to reduce congestion, parking and fuel consumption. Just another stupid bureaucratic rule we have to live with.

A Yamaha Raptor 700 in AUS is $12990 and no where near as cool...Plus cheap plastics and 10inch steel wheels and tyres.

Wouldn't expect any change outta 25K.

There is also no way you could rid a solid axle bike on the road and expect to live. My raptor has a hard enuf time turning into the garage at 5kph on concrete. Great funt to powerslide in the dirt though.

I have my quad conditionally registered in QLD. We can ride in events that travel on public roads but must have a permit for the event. And the are distance limits and the route must be approved. Also allows us to ride them on fraser etc.

I never knew that you could ride a quad on Fraser. Is it conditional rego with compulsory 3rd party like it is here for Stockton beach. How much?
Any details would be appreciated. Sounds like I might be taking a holiday!!!!

I haven't done it as I have been to busy. Yes it has insurance like any other rego. You need to get a permit I understand. Bet people to talk to would be North Coast Jet SKi as they organise rides in the area. They would know the ins and outs better than I would.
