Can anyone tell me if they have had fitment issues with the genie short headers... in particular plug leads being WAY to close to the pipe and ending up melted???? i just realised along with the left side o2 sensor died imediatly after install the right side 2nd from back cylinder lead is melted cause its touching the pipe.

any one with these can you please look at your headers and tell me how close the leads are to the pipe inparticular drivers side bank of cylinders???

I was warned about this when I got the Genie shorties fitted, but fitted them anyway.

I have only done about 2000km's in mine since fitting them and have not had any problems.

Just looked under my bonnet then and found that the leads are well placed on most cylinders. The closest would be the front right where the metal shield around the rubber boot is about 6-7mm from the header pipe; however this does not seem to be suffering any ill effects due to the close proximity to the header.

Are you running te std leads or afermarket ones?

Try PMing Mongy as he used to have these fitted, and he always gives good, straight advice.

Standard leads, all look perfectly spaced except the drivers side 2nd from back is actually touching the pipe, its already melted the sucker. again im going back to where i got them installed today first thing in the morning so they can fix that and replace the left o2 sensor which died too.... WOW what dramas for a set of extractors...

The only way they are going to solve that problem is to replace the RH header with a new one that is hopefully better setup... Hopefully they will come to the party.

I would be surprised if you get the new O2 sensors. Normally it is accepted that they will die prematurely anyway...

Good luck anyways.
