interior looks like an improvement for those who don't like the orange dashboard LEDs in the current model - hopefully no price rise when it comes out here

I guess that the dash will still be orange, the only difference is that the dash shown in those pics houses the full colour screen sat nav which isn't available in australia.

Oh and it has the new for 07 piano black finish, i wonder which models in OZ will get that?

The back end still looks like dog balls compared to the TS model in my opinion!:diddy:

Would be nice if they could add a temp guage somewhere given the current astra doesn't have one. Piss poor

Sorry you must be talking about the Migane which looks like dog balls not the Astra...imo

I noticed that the 1.8l has more power and torque with better fuel economy than the AH Astra.

Does anybody know when this update will be available here?

The migane is awful aswell, but the TS still heaps better looking in my opinion.

The most important thing is the new engines with phased cam timing are not only more powerful, but also pass future emissions so they won't go backwards when those are intro'd. Plus they get five or six-speed autos for better performance - that old 4-speeder was not bad, but final drive was geared down for the heavier AH.

That was what was hurting the Astra compared to the opposition. Now it'll have a safety, performance, economy edge to add to the better drive. Let's see the 'cardigan-special toaster pack' match that.

Sometimes I don't understand Holden's Marketing. The AH Astra is a ripper little car BUT it needs more power. Holden introduce a diesel engine, & put an engine with LOWER power in the auto.
And yes, I was talking to a Holden/HSV salesmanager the other day, & he said that if the TS Astra was still available, they'd be selling heaps of them.
Cheers, Pickles.

just a few things we really want

2 decent sized cup holders centre console, 2 in the rear (in centre arm rest?)
a temp gauge, VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) to fit a nice GPS, and yeah.. that will do for the moment.

now Blaupunkt need to update the Aspen DVD/flip out TV to support DVB digital TV, DAB Digital Radio and iPod integration, with Digiceiver so we can wire it to the car's info display

Can you also add an armrest to these Astra.
They desparetly need one.
Such a pain to drive one with out an armrest.
