Just because they meet you once doesnt mean they will vouch, if you fruck up later they can lose theirs as well as you.

Apparently most people get validated just by showing up at a cruise.

what about us hermits that dont go out to too many cruises/meets lol? dont like leaving my comfort zone...
Once you have met someone that could validate you, it is up to them to decide weather they should validate you, as, like Nutter said, they become responsible for your behavior, its easy.
You cou go on Sly LS1's cruise to Phillip Island next Sunday, you will meet lots of us there. I heard he validated someones spare wheel once, so he would be a chance, maybe, perhaps.
It's a good place to start.
Sorry SLY, can't make it next weekend.:toetap:

thats up to the person nominating the people, because in the end if someone who is validated had a stuff up, the person who validated them gets punishment aswell... :toetap:

What's the point of validation? Serious question I'm not being a smart ass. What does it prove? That I'm not a spambot? That I'm real flesh & blood? Or that I actually drive what I say I drive?

There are areas that you can only get to if you are validated:diddy:

I'm aware of that. Seems like some kind of elitist wank factor to me. But that still doesn't answer my question as to why there is validation in the first place.
I want to know why is it so, not what it can get you if you get validation.

Its not the standard answer for someone who doesn't know the answer, its a standard answer for members who have been around a while and cant be frucked repeating themselves when all the info is already there.
If people keep starting the same threads over and over when someone does finally search for something all they get is pages of whingers saying its all too hard with no relevant info, a lot like this thread.

think I will remain an un trustworthy time waster. HOORAY Ive got a friend, everyone here can vouch for that!! Welcome to the time wasters club
People seem worried about the validated / non validated tag. Seriously it doesnt matter here which one you are, we're all treated the same. Everyones still welcome to public cruises, track days and get togethers to have a blast in their LS1, LS2, other Holden and god knows what else we've seen.
For me I use the validated thing mainly for organising cruises for my peace of mind. The last thing I want is a bunch of people I dont know attracting unwanted attention on a family cruise. As Ive seen, a few hoons and everyones being pulled over for RBT, spot checks and, being find for everything from noise to fog lights in operation and whatever else. It ruins a nice day out.
At least for me, by using the validated members area I can be certain these people have proven their ability to behave and have a good, safe trip. Unfortuinately for some members, eg those out in the middle of know where, that system doesnt work ... but are you really interested in a Sydney cruise or Eastern Creek skid pan day? Although this said many days are posted publically anyway so your not really missing out on much.
Just my spin on it.

He will never even turn of the traction, funny enough he is buying it for his misses much like I did for mine hahaha so it will go back to an easy life with long tyre change intervals.

I've been lurking around these forums since January 2004. I've found that you don't need to be validated here to get an answer to your problem.
While the concept of a validation system makes sense, in operation it appears somewhat flawed. For example, when someone's status goes from "Permanently Banned" to "Validated" overnight, there has to be something wrong somewhere. I've witnessed this and a couple of other similarly mysterious occurrences since signing up here.
It's enough to make me not want to involve myself in all the politics, and just continue lurking as a casual observer and getting answers to questions from the stuff posted in the non-validated member's section. Well, it works for me...

I would love to write LS1 on the ground but would need to do it in a single spinner to make it look right.
It will probably be some 2nd or 3rd gear action lotsa smoke if the tyres arent too hard, we will see what some heat will do to them....sorry for being of topic hahaha since this was a validation thread... oh and it will be taped no probs at all there.

The validated sections are only as good as you make them. They are there as a reward for users who have proven themselves to be not a muppet and have at least 2 people from the "web of trust" vouch for their character ;)
