I have been trying to look for a SSZ hard cover for my VZ ute but i am having trouble to find a place that sells them in Perth. Does anyone know where i am able to get one in Perth at all, i found multiple websites that stock the product but they are all in the east.
Also what do you guys think about the SSZ hard cover or should i just go for the plain flat Holden Hard Cover for about $2,000 from Holden.
Cheers,
I love the twin aero foil hard cover on my thunder, I'm definatly bias but I think it looks a lot better than the normal one.

If your going to spend the money I'd go for the SSZ/Thunder lid but sorry don't know of any places who stock them apart from holden.

try holden or you might have to bite the bullet and source one from interstate.

I personally prefer the the SSZ/Thunder lids to. But I have seen them on some utes and I don't like them. I think it depends what colour ute you have.
I like them on Black, silver and blue. But that's me personally. You just have a look at a ute that's the same colour as yours and see what you think.

I have a 05 Black SS Ute but only got the soft cover when i bought it, because i didn't think that i would prefer the hard cover but now i have changed my mind.

You can get the SSZ hardcovers for around 2 grand from Holden.
They come manufactured to the colour of your car.
Also pretty sure you can only get the flat ones from HBD as Holden stopped making them.

My mate has just bought a Thunder ute new a month ago and got the dealer to take off the hard cover for a regular tarp.
It is brand new and is Phantom Black and comes with all fittings.
He wants $1200 for it if any one is interested, you can PM me and I can give you the details.
It is the twin scoop type as pictured earlier in this thread.
Happy Cruizin.

My tonneau cover is actually completely screwed, the stitching that holds it onto the metal bar at the front came loose and now the whole lot has come out because of the force of the wind on the tonneau, so I don't know whether to just buy a new one or save for a hard cover :)

Its personal opinion mate. But personally i prefer the plain flat ones thye look shit loads better, the ssz ones make the car look like it sits higher then it actually is. The flat ones are a bit cheaper i picked mine up brand new from holden for $1600 fitted. But no matter which cover you go for holden or after market they all leak so dont expect it to be waterproof.

Sorry to hijack but Im chasing a flat style hardcover for my ute aswell. I think the style is up to the person but I reckon that the SSZ style makes ute look too thick in the middle. I like the little lip at the back though. If anyone knows where I can get one for a decent price can you please PM me. By the way VY STORM how did you get the cover for $1600 fitted from Holden? I got quoted heaps more than that.

i recon you should maybe start your own "sell SSZ covers to the perth blokes" shop, it may come in quite handy. :headbang:
Also "the ute shed" also has a few things, think they stock lazerline cover, $1600 painted or $2000 to fit round the sports bars i think.

I have already checked out 'The Ute Shed' though found they only had the flat hard cover, if i am unable to source a SSZ cover i think i might go to the Shed and get a flat cover. I am thinking about calling 'AMCAP' (Provide all Holden Car parts to dealers/crash repairs/ Coventry's) and getting a price from them.

I just called AMCAP and here is what they got!!!
SSZ Hard Cover - $2,300 Plus GST (Includes Painting and Fittings)
Holden Flat Hard Cover - $1,850 Plus GST (Includes Painting and Fittings)
I didn't ask about the hard cover with a sports bars present, sorry mate i forgot. I asked about the Phantom Mica colour and said they have stock of both sorts.

Now begs the question!!! how do you manage to get it from Holden SO cheap??

Well that's from AMPCAP, but my old man's been a car salesman a long time, he gets it for what the dealers pay.
btw the SSZ ones aren't "painted" like a normal one, they get built to the colour. Thus you cannot buy one "ready to spray"
