Ok - pending the arrival of a proper aftermarket solution for the God awful red lego brick oil and battery indicators on the SS-V - I'm going to put a temporary solution in on my car.

I figure that anything will look better than the useless dials there at the moment.

I've ordered a ""V8 6.0Litre"" badge - the one that usually sits on the front guard of the SSV.

My plan is to mount this on a piece of smoked coloured perspex and attach with velcro to the current panel.

It sounds tacky - but I reckon a V8 6.0 litre emblem is more exciting than the lego bricks. I'm hoping also that there may just be some red back light illumination through the perspex.

I figure if I cut it all nicely and place it snuggly in the pod without the velcro showing - it should look ok -Any thoughts ? By using velcro - when a proper solution comes or if I decide to revert to the lego bricks - nothing has been damaged or lost.

My question is - does anyone know where I can get a thin layer of smoked (ie dark ) perspex to mount the badge.

I thought about just disconnecting the guages.

A mate asked if I could play space invaders on that screen

I do agree the brick lego space invaders thing look shocking. I dont have a VE nor have I been in one for very long but from what ive seen it doesnt look like something to be proud of in a billion dollar baby, when Toyota and Honda can have holographic images. Even the LED readouts in a Toyota Tarago look better. The brick style LED readout was so 1992 Honda Prelude "space age look" technology, not 2006/2007 VE Commodore
