No doubt a few of these cars will star in some upcomming ram raids/atm robberies.

I was wondering the same thing myself. That's crazy to have a car like that and not have it insured. However a workshop's garage you'd think would be one of the safest places to leave it.

I wonder if the workshop would cover the loss of the customer's cars? Hmmm probably not I guess... if I left my digital camera at a mates place and his place got broken into, my camera wouldn't be covered under his insurance policy. Not a very fun christmas for these guys http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/images/icons/icon9.gif

If the car was in someones workshop and was stolen from there, I would imagine the owner could possibly sue the workshop to recover the cost of the vehicle. The workshop should (hopefully) have public liability insurance to cover this.

Does anyone know for sure how this works (is anyone a lawyer here)?

How do you insure a $100k DRAG only car or a Dyno only queen? I'd say they are close to uninsurable.

Public liability doesnt cover theft. The workshop should have Fire and theft cover but knowing how a lot of workshops are, they would have anything in place as its on the list of things to get around to.

As Voodoo says it would be very difficult to get a 100k race car insured. Hopefully the workshop did have theft insurance. Bloody thieves. Gees I hope they get what they deserve.

With regards to the digital camera. Yes. Most policies that I have seen do have clauses for visitors belongings, although its usually a poultry 500 dollar limit.

Bel's insurance policy should hopefully be able to cover this since it was under their duty of care.. and from there on.. even if it does get covered, all 5 cars would probably be only paid out for a factory car.. look @ the bright side.. at least they get something back?

I dont think the high octane team is going to be very happy having their one off drag car stolen..

Does that mean you can only buy chickens with it? :whip:

:yup: You picked it. Considering the camera in question was a Digital SLR with L lens and external flash, it was indeed chicken feed. :lmao:
