The Epica was supposed to be on sale this month, but I've heard nothing and it wasn't displayed at the Sydney Motor Show. Anyone know why it's been delayed and when it's coming now?

Funny was thinking that the other week. I have seen four of them on the M1 between Lara and Altona over the last few months. All undisguised with only tape over the badges.

Holden wanted to avoid 06 registered models and end of year run outs - -so I believe will be available in Jan /Feb
SSV8Pilot is spot on the cars are waiting to go

They're still going to be '06 build cars if they're sitting around ready to go - I suggest early buyers should be very careful indeed if they don't want to be burnt at trade in time later on. The dealer will sell it to you now as an '07 model because of the '07 compliance plate, but will be happy to take it off your hands as an '06 model because of the '06 build plate a few years from now.

Does this mean that we have cars sitting waiting to go? or they are ready to import '07 models next year?

I believe Holden has delayed the launch until early next year to give VE and Captiva time to find their feet.
It maybe that Holden feel it's easier to put marketing dollars behind 1 or 2 new models than have 3 all-new models hit the market at around the same time, this way thay can spread the new model activity over a longer period for maximum exposure and impact.
it's Australian Compliance you have to worry about for resale..
BMW are the only manufacturer I have dealt with that made an issue of the Build date. (even then I think they were having a lend)
There are vectras about the place with 04 build and 06 compliance ... If a dealer leads you to believe that your car is worth less because of the build than fool you for believing..
Resale is more based on condition and Kilometers than Compliance anyway. A Good condition low kilometer 2004 Z Series Clubsport is worth more than a Average Condition and Kilometer 2005 Plate.

I disagree - as a car buyer I'd look at the build date moreso than the compliance date. Particularly if there were changes to the model I was looking at from year to year.
