:search: Has been answered several times on here already. Basically, yes with some modification. Some places are selling them already machined for pre VE.

Sorry, just noticed you are new here but it's an appropriate time to point out to try searching before asking anything likely to already have been asked or you'll have lots of people telling you to :search: See "Search this forum" just under the page counter on the main General Automotive page or even "Search" on the main index page just under your name etc. to search all forums.

Welcome to the forum.
The search button answers many common questions, but to give you a head start, have a look at this....
http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=60013
This is in the Technical non-powertrain section, which is where this type of question is usually asked.

If you don't have any joy with the Search Button, in a nut shell the differences are -

VE wheel studs 14mm diameter
Pre VE wheels studs 12mm diameter

The wheels studs diameter won't be a problem as long as you have tapered wheel nuts,

VE centre hub hole 66.9mm in diameter
Pre VE centre hub hole 69.6mm in diameter.

To fit VE wheels onto pre VE models the centre hub hole needs to be machined larger. This can cost anywhere between $10 per wheel to $60 per wheel depending on who does it for you...

I gave just been through this excercise as I've just sold my 20" HSVi Supersport wheels off my VE and they are going onto a VU SS ute.

Hope this helps you

Can someone tell me why some people have to be so arrogant and straight out nasty to new people when they ask a simple question, after all they are here seeking help from some very intelligent people.

I am sure Australian LS1 forum is more than happy to welcome new people and they don’t support this kind of behavior.

I am sure everyone that posts threads in here also started not known all the ways threads work, tell me is there any need to reply to a post with garbage like this.

When I see this kind of behavior I wonder what the hell this person gets out of posting such a dim-witted remark, a simple few words advising the guy to try the search button would do, not this repetitive posting.

You have only to look down this thread and see the people who are genuine and willing to help people with good advice and then you see the guy who thinks he is above everyone else and bash’s in a reply showing how limited his intelligence really is.

I would like to say to ‘SNA57” just disregard the idiots in here and you will find that the majority are very switched on and have some very helpful advice to share.

Cheers.

Chappy, never a truer word spoken.

Some people need to take a good look at themselves lately, and it does appear to be coming from some of our newer younger forum users.

Nice , I think we all have to remeber that sometimes not all of us have the knowledge of some of the members here like voodoo or HRT8 etc useing a search function is only helpful if you can use the right terminology. Sometimes it is quicker and more factual to be told than to find it yourself and wade through the wrongs and rights and make a descision.

just out of interest, what would people suggest searching for to find the information that SNA57 is after? i tried searching for it and couldnt' find anything.

Perhaps people should search themselves before telling people to. Just because you've seen a thread, it doesn't mean that the words the person are using and the words used in the thread are going to be the same.

edit - just realised that is what duke was saying.

Typing "ve wheels" in to general non powertrain found it pretty easy. This is the correct sub forum for this question, as it says near the top of the page.

Which is fine, but people are always starting new threads for (example) "gear lever rattle", when typing in "gear lever" finds dozens of threads already! Things like that really are mega obvious. The reason it's frowned on is because it keeps pushing threads off the page very quickly.

if "20inch wheels on a VE" came up as a search result, i don't think i would have checked it. The title doesnt' suggest that it would be helpful.

I'm not suggesting it's the definitive thread either! But, plenty of people have asked about the 20 inch HSVi wheels on earlier models, so it shouldn't be so odd to you either....:nyuk:
BUT, half the time, the obvious search words find the obvious threads already.
If not, ask the question!!!!!

You know what I think?? if you can answer the question being asked fairly simply why not just answer it??? If it is more in depth then tell them to use the search button..

A little bit of help for some people will not hurt you guys..

And also if you see the thread and realise it is a question don't just come in to say :search:

Manners don't cost the earth they make them, and so many of you users on here have none......

Mannn , how many time have we been through this, the search system on vBulletin is crap, end of story... If a question is asked and you have an answer, post it, if not dont bother posting! We all know theres no need to post any question about anything other than VE onwards because every question has already been asked and answered for all the models b4 :1peek:

As for the VE wheel question, I hear that there is another problem putting VE factory rims & tyres on earlier models, that being the profile of the tyres being to high... and rubbing on inner gaurds...

If a question has been asked "so many times already" that it would be easy to find it in a search then surely it warrants being called a FAQ and added to a list of other FAQ's, that would definately make it easier to find.
