Hi All

I am a massive Ford fan ..... and I was VERY disappointed by the outcome for Craig at Philip Island.

BUT... I also conceed that Rick never intentionally shunted the Triple 8 Falcon off the track in an attempt to steal the championship..... that's just the way the cookie crumbled this time......... and hopefully the "powers that be" will ensure that teams from differing manufacturer's camps cannot ever conspire to hold back another competitor.

I think it's time we all conceeded that the only reason OUR home grown brands are so good is because of the intense rivalry that exists between the two. AND it is the passionate Australian motoring public that has supported the two.

If I was to buy any other car apart from a Ford, it would be a Holden. The ONLY reason that Ford are doing things well these days (GT/Typhoon) is because of the acid that has been tipped on them by Holden. Remove one of the two brands and tell me ..... what would you do ???? Would you buy a Camry or a Magna... sorry 380 !!! PLEASE !!

I just hate seeing all the "we hate them, they suck" rubbish on OUR home pages (fordforums.com.au and here)...... let's all just grow up and realise how great we've got it here in Australia. Hell, your motoring dollar goes a long way here in Aus thanks to THEM and US.

I'm now going to quietly slink off back to the BLUE side, having shared my thoughts on this...........

GO THE AUSSIE MUSCLE CARS AND SCREW ALL THE EURO IMPORTS.

See Ya

well said 74 coupe.... I agree !!

If I was to buy any other car apart from a Ford, it would be a Holden.

I've always said the same, only in reverse. If I was in the market for a new car (around the price of a Commodore), and Holden didn't exist, I'd buy a Falcon - no questions.

I will say though, that a lot of the rivalry on these forums is pretty light-hearted. I'll refer to Fords as pieces of crap every now and then, and make a joke when I see one broken down....but really, they're decent cars. I just prefer Commodores. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

PS: We even have a Falcon in the family...only that one really is a piece of shit. 410,000km EA 3sp SPI I6. It's worth about $50 so when rego finally runs out, I'm giving it a fitting sendoff in the form of a demo derby at PCR. :D

I agree with the above sentiments expressed.

I was very disappointed for Lowndes - I believe he got a bit of a raw deal at Phillip Island and at Surfers.

That said, I am a mechanic who did his apprenticeship with Ford and have remained a Ford fan for years, however, except for an EBII about 14 years ago I have pretty much owned holdens. Presently own a VY Wagon for the wife and a VZ ute for myself. I believed at purchase time the Holden product was better than the comparable Ford and would have better resale in the future. However, no Holden product and I would buy Ford. BF Turbo Ford Ute looks pretty good to me.

As it carries on from the last closed thread on the Kelly/Lowndes topic I am going to close this thread.

Enough opinions have been expressed and as these threads always deteriorate its better not revisited.

I agree though 74 coupe, the Holden vs Ford thing is overdone to death on both websites........
