i was wondering if you can buy them on there own from holden or do you have to buy it together with all new door locks and boot lock?

cheers

Should be able to get it seperate and just take it to a locksmith and have it matched to your existing Key. (Thats what I did when my '81 VC commodore got broken in '94 and got one from the local holden dealer).

Yep, you buy an un-coded barrel, meaning it's not assembled to any code. Just take it to a locksmith and they match all the bits and pieces to your existing key.

does anyone know how much an uncoded one is?

and how do you think a locksmith would charge to get it coded?

my VN barrel (same key blade design as the VT) cost $80 cash to get cut to the right design. That was 8 years ago however
