Im not a true Holden man so I'll get that out of the way first.
But I need some info about a HSV car. I think its called a [track pac] The guy down the road has one. Its red, with white wheels & looks very tough but not much in the way of luxury inside. He got it new, late last year from a HSV dealer. So I gather its a ligit model, Its not the newest model. I've just never seen one before! It even looks like its got some sort of semi race tyres on it. It looks like any other Clubby, just sort of plain, not bling bling, llike the normal cars..
Firstly I need to know what its called?:eg: track pac/ R-spec/HSV spec???
Is a true model?
How much they are $$?
Are they covered by warrenty if you decide to go & do some motorkanas/club race day that sort of thing::etc?
Thanks guys.:D

Sounds like a Z series HRT Clubsport. www.hsv.com.au/ Click on cars, then click on select series and then click Z series. It will be 1 of 50 and is a true model. Not sure about cost or warranty. No doubt someone on this forum has them.

I wouldn't bother. It's just another HSV "Gimmick" Edition. It's meant to be the HRT Edition Clubsport inspired by HRT.
It's virtually no different to a normal Z clubbie - It's got the gauges, same size brakes as the R8 but not cross-drilled like the R8. (I think they are the PWR brakes as opposed to the Harrop's fitted to the 05 R8's. Someone who knows a little more will be able to confirm one way or the other.) It lacks a short shift stock as well. I think the paint scheme is a little lame as well.
But if you were serious about track days you'd probably try and acquire a Clubsport-R, however I'm not sure if they are still available. I can't find any information about them on the HSV website save for the Martin Brundle @ Bahrain video.
It did cut some pretty impressive lap times from memory, but Motor said that was almost entirely due to the OEM rubber.
Cheers,
- Febs.

Thanks guys were getting somewere.
So there is such a model?
HRT spec is that is real name?? But not much over the standard Clubby?
OK so is it warrented for club days etc???
I know its a lot of questions, but If I were to buy one & have the odd motorkana day in it, I wouldn't want to void the warrenty..

from memory there was a clubsport dts (dealer team spec) which had better brakes lightwieght black oz racing wheels etc. very tough looking car. if you could track one down it would be well worth it for motokarnas.

I have seen one in town, definitely looks the part.
For the last run of Z Series Clubsport they did two special editions.. first the HSV Dealer team edition. This car was Black with an orange strip under the doors orange brake callipers etc... charcol coloured wheels.
The second was a HRT Dealer team edition and was the pigon pear to the first but red and white (white wheels).
The cars were a standard Clubsport with R8 Brakes (343mm 4 piston front) R8 suspention, semi compition tyres and a linear steering rack. (standared on the last Y series GTS)
Clubsports that were core vehicle compliance 06 and HSV compliance 06 were scarce ... 150 approx in total 100 LE's and 50 standard
NO factory car has warranty on a track or a motorcana... having said that see how many owners do these things and don't tell their dealers come warranty claims... it would be bad luck to get caught.
the cars were just over 70k on the road however the last ones ran out for early 50's as people were looking forward to E Series.
By The way their was a DTS 1 & 2 (dealer team spec) Option that was avaiable on normal Z series R8 and GTO ... these packs included the same steering rack 362mm 6pot brakes with the 343mm 4 pot on the back, a spare set of track wheels ETC.. Stage one was something like a 10-12k option stage 2 was I think around 20k but had HSV DDI amongst other things...

Clubsport DTS was the model.
Bigger brakes, lighter wheels, sticky rubber etc and mentioned previously.
Biggest feature was stage 2 with Ohlins adjustables front and rear shocks and data logging. Was an 8K option (shock) though.

Yeah thats it DTS thats ringing a bell. Red with white wheels?
So they are out there & would be a good thing for Tarmac rallys :etc:
Would a Tarmac rally for road rego'd car void warrenty?
Can you still get the DTS model even the new model has arrived?
These question are a pain I know sorry, But Im looking at whats in the market at the moment, & which would be the better way to go..

DTS was not a model in its own right. It was an option pack that had 2 levels of equipment and could be optioned on any manual HSV. They only came with black rims. I would imagine that they would be very rare.
The HSVDT & HRT limited edition models have been descibed in previous posts. What you described sounds like the HRT version.
Search through the HSV site's news archives for the full rundown.

No question your looking at a HRT Special edition 1 of 50 as I decribed earlier..
No question no factory warranty will survive "Rally" of any discription (if the factory know about it)
I would suprised if you could buy one new.... I can check into it if you like.
Hey JED55 how are you doing?

We had a VE SV6 in recently with a flogged out rubber "doughnut" tailshaft coupling.
It was noted that one rear wheel had a brand new tyre on it, and there was no spare in the boot. It was also noted that there were rubber deposits inside that wheel arch.
It turns out that the young guy was doing burnouts until a tyre popped, by which time the doughnut failed.
There was no warranty.....on his DAD'S CAR!
There is no warranty for motorsport or just general "reckless abuse", and it's easier to tell than many people think.

No thats not it, although close. This one has white wheels, they look the same as those ones but white. There is also a white strip running along above the side skirt.
The white Wheels are VY1 R8 Wheels ...

You might find that it is better/cheaper/easier to get a normalrun of the mill clubbie and spend someof the extra coin on RE55's and some decent suspension.
Add somegood brake padsinto the equation and you'd be surprised by the difference in performance around the track.
