 I am thinking of getting my tyres walled in white or red 10mm stripe priced $160 for all four wheels for my sting red vx r8 clubsport. As no one has tryed this before on a vx clubsport not that i know of anyway i would like some opinions on this topic as i think it would look mad and tough aswell as an eye turner.

personally on a new motor vehicle, i think it'll look like shit.... my thoughts are similar of that with the new ss's having strips.... leave walled tyres and stripes for the old school monaros...

I think it looks good, a thin 10mm line around the wall of the tyre gives the illusion on the rim being a bigger diameter especially in white, it has been done on plenty of commodores in the past and I would assume on HSVs as well, street commodores did a write up on it and the process a few issues back.

Does anyone know who does this walling on tyres a shop or mobile service in melbourne if you have there number and address that would be great if someone does.I think a place called TyreArt in epping or thomastown somewere abouts does this type of thing.

Hi there TODDLER78 would you know what issue that was or what type of car was on the front cover of street commodores magazine so i can chase it up thanks.

Hey Andypowers.

I have always had "Walls"on my WK, and would never not have them.

It is not true that they are only for Old School, as I do many many car shows, and heaps of Commodores and HSV have them on.
Mine however, are Gold, as that is the theme of my car, and I have to do them myself as the chap here in Adelaide still can't source a Gold Tyre paint.
However, he only charges $70 for a set of four, so you have been quoted a lot more.

The article in Street Commodores was a Sydney one, but I am sure if you look up Whitewalls in the phone book, you should find some information, or many tyre places have business cards of this service on hand.

If you want them on, do it.

They only last a few months anyway, so if you dont like it, no major drama.

CHeers mate, Happy Walling!!!
