who cares what the temp is, that is what air con is for. We should do the hill cruize that we use to do a few years back. Meet in town then head to birdwood, stop for a drink then of to mt barker. And through to strath for lunch, and if people are still keen head to victor. Lots of straights and corners, not for the faint hearted. Hopfully there might be some of the members from a few years ago that might show up to.

Have a mate with a Supercharged 6 (VX) that may come along too. He wants to see how it goes against mildly modded LS1's (he hasnt had it long, i havent even seen it!!).

I will have the whole family with me as well - any other SAers bring their family on these events?

I will have my kids with me , two boys and a girl, they love going on day cruises to catch up with other kids during the stops.

Hopefully this won't just be all Hill Climbing.
I hate cruises that you can't enjoy your journey, because you are too busy concentrating on unfamiliar steep and narrow bends, that some cruise co-ordinators seem to find challenging.
Would you mind giving us a rough idea when you finish planning the route, so that I can decide whether I will attend or not.( I'm not trying to be a Piker, it's just that I enjoy a cruise that is relaxing.....not an orienteering course)
Thanks.

I will have my wife with me which is 4 months pregos so i wont be going all out like i use to in my old ss as i dont wont want my ass chewed off;) . I would like it to be a family day rather then an all boys day, its not the way i was brought up. Thats why there is a few meeting points so the ones that want to have a bit of fun can, and the rest can enjoy the sights and we dont get split up. It is a full days cruize if we do go through to victor,a full tank would be good before meeting up.

OK, I have an idea on a route.
Please comment.

Meet Point (Suggestions) Close to city (Central)
Callington via SE Freeway
Strathalbyn
Meadows
Myponga
Myponga Beach
End Point (Suggestions) Again, close to city would be nice.

Towns listed does not intend stop points merly a guide of direction.

If everyone is happy with that I will go ahead and draw up some directions.

Approx 200km's.

Not bad, but rather than start out on the freeway and miss some of the best twisties, I suggest:

Meet Point (Suggestions) Close to city (Central)
Gorge road to Birdwood...
Birdwood to Palmer
Palmer to Murrybridge
Murry bridge to Strathalbyn
Ashbourne to Goolwa
Victor Harbour
Delamere
Head back along the coast Via Yankalilla, Aldinga etc.

Feedback welcome.

hi Guys,

I should be able to put in an appearance,

I like the idea of a few straights and bends,

car coming togeher nicely at the moment just got a couple of minor things to sort out.

just hope that they catch that bloody fire bug in the hills so we dont have to worry about visibility etc.

Im sure im not the only one hoping that there is no small rocks on the road, i not ready to repaint the front of the car yet, how bout you Paul (VYSSBlack almost need another one of our midnight cruises again that was fun)

will be good to see some new faces around.

I'm over it for now. I'm moving over to Melbourne in a couple of months so Ill wait until I'm over there for a respray, its bound to get a few more chips with a few trips backwards and forwards over the next few months. Dan just bought a VYSS 6M and he keeps asking me when the next cruise is on so he will be in his own car this time.

So you finally got the rear end sorted out Klink, what was it in the end, nothing major I hope

I only brought it up as i was talking with Daniel and he was cleaning the small rocks out of his filter.

yes i think the next night cruise will have to be before you go as im lead to believe the boys picked up a calais so it could almost be a case of one person per car.

Yes got the rear end sorted out, new driveshafts and a diff bolt sitting up 3mm, causing all of my problems, just have to get wheel balance and wheel alignment and its all good. (i hope) havnt had a problem since i had the diff bolt redone.

will have to catch up though and see if you spoke to your cousin/uncle over xmas.

Berocca, sounds like a couple of good routes for our other toys too, we will have to catch up and go for a ride soon, i need a bit of fun, getting bored with the ss at the moment, (8hrs complete strip of the bike, took off rad guard, temp prob seems fixed)

just a little bit of stuff on the thread or in the hole. was the front d/side bolt. very hard to see without a torch and a mirror,
wasnt expensive, i was lucky that i have a very good diff guy. it took awhile to find it but once found fixed promptly.

driveshafts was another story, holden wanted 420 a side then fitting. But i went after market and they are 4mm bigger in diamiter.

I'm up for a cruise that day. Both routes sound fine. As long as there is corners I dont mind a bit. A place to meet may be a problem. I suggest the rear carpark of Dan Murphys Glenunga. It is large enough to accomodate alot of cars, and will be empty Sunday Mornings. Or the side carpark of the Kurrulta Park Kmart.

Those aftermarket shafts sound alright being 4mm bigger. Lucky with the diff indeed - one of those niggly things that annoys but is hard to find by the sounds of it - especially given its location.

Yes, it was a hard spot to see, lucky some one noticed it as i had had it at a couple of diff joints and none of them noticed it, they put it down to cv shafts that were less than 200km's old so it shows how much and how thorough they can be.

So it was a good trip to collect the car? You deserve a day off anyway so take one, you work to hard, lol.

it should be a good cruise, may have to do a pre cruise cruise on the sat night as its a sunday cruise, drag out heaths toy, daniels new toy, the black beast yours and mine and then go straight on to the cruise depending what time it starts.

yes, i still cope greif over the work you did for me,

Yes well you need to learn to hold the camera steady, either that or be in the green machine, lmao.

either that or you drive mine and bring out the blue one for some fun.

Your diff will hold up ok, they have a tendancy to let go if you do alot of donuts etc so i was told when i had mine looked at so to speak.

we arent into big burnouts etc we are a well behaved, compared to alot of other groups, we are more into social atmosphere than wrecking our cars, we enjoy them not try and destroy them.

$1300 for rear tyres, that takes the fun out of life.

You should look at getting your diff checked before it gets to bad otherwise you may damage the lsd centre or the cones and thats not cheap

to Normanville (Third Stop) via Delamere

With the suggestion of Lunch at Port Elliot. Peoples can either go to the local on the main street or grab yourselves some fish and chips and let the kiddies (if any attending) have a play on the beach. Plenty parking ( i think ) on the top of that point.

it should be a good cruise, may have to do a pre cruise cruise on the sat night as its a sunday cruise, drag out heaths toy, daniels new toy, the black beast yours and mine and then go straight on to the cruise depending what time it starts.

yes, i still cope greif over the work you did for me,

Yes well you need to learn to hold the camera steady, either that or be in the green machine, lmao.

either that or you drive mine and bring out the blue one for some fun.

So where are you hiding? your doing a better job of hiding than me?

Hmm, saturday night cruise hey, if im not pre-occupied

As for that work, ill get around to cleaning it up someday soon, you know how it is mate, things to see people to... ill leave it at that

And hey, i dont mind driving your beast sunday:yahoo: :driving: , i wont break anything, not my car, hell, i cant afford to fix mine at the moment.

I doubt the green machine will be out sunday, im not sure though.

I doubt i could do as god a job at hiding as you mate, your tough to find when your not hiding, have a good one mate, we'll catch up soon and ill bring the squeeze around so she can listen to us dribble shit for hours

So we now exit shops left onto Anzac and up to Greenhill.

I guess the easiest way would be to sit on the side of Glen Osmond before 11:00am and weight for the thundering freight train to go buy and then tag along.

So we are then turning up glen osmond road to meet the express way???

Yep, I was just clarifying becuase of mentioned cross roads on an earlier post and didn't want to confuse anyone and lose people on the first turn.

If you keep your eye on the forum we try to get crusing at least every second month. I would like to do a night cruise in Feb at some stage too.

That dosn't meen I will be organising it, others are more than welcome to get a route sorted.

If we keep it a regular thing people will see us and come out. Another batch of forum stickers would'nt hurt too so everyone knows where we are from.

Hi Chris,

Just wondering if you factored in the road closures around the city for the tour down under?

And what is the extimated return time?

Road Closures wouldn't effect the route to Botanic Park on Hackney Rd via Norwood Parade. (can't say i've taken notice of the tour down under route for the final city stage - just assuming it'll be the same as years gone by).

I am aware of that and have looked at the tour site but dont know where some of the roads are as i avoid the city as much as possible, just wondering how big a detour some of us may have to take to get back home from the botanic gardens.

As carrots said, all roads off north tce up to Montifore (spelling) hill and surrounds should be avoided.

I threw a map together to show optional exit routes. Please note enter city is at own risk but if you have to you can.

just had a look at the satalite/sonoptic chart and i dont think we will get much rain on sunday.

we may see rain in the early hours of sunday but i believe it will clear up by lunch time given the cloud masses that are over sa as there is nothing over wa or off the coast at this stage. it may be windy but i think we will have most of the rain by 9am sunday, there may be some light showers but i doubt that.

I am not fussed on the lunch stop. I just thought as a time thing it would be pretty close to lunch at Port Elliot.
Remember it's all informal, when we park people can go off together or do their own thing. We will make a time to meet back at the cars and then off we go again.

I will probably bring my 2yo boy for a boys day out.

For those who will be meeting up at other points or stopping at other points here is my mobile for tracking us down: 0416093828. Also handy for others if ya get lost.

Looking forward to it all now.:driving: :driving: :driving:

Jeebus mate, gimme time to sift through the photos, over 100 taken, most are pretty good this time, less to delete:yahoo: , just more to bloody edit, but gives me something to do.

Got some really good ones, ive started to edit some basically, remove plates and fix the colours, couple of awesome ones of the three stock looking VX SS's, if dan had parked the right bloody way:cussing: could have had a nice foursome

Would have been more if the damn thing didnt go flat

I had a sensational day.

Thanks for those who rocked up, I was a little worried when I got up this morning.

The weather cleared up and gave us a chance to get a good go at it. The Pt Elliot to Normanville stage was excellent, to have all that open road was a blast. I reckon dave (hyper 8) would of been at home on that section.;) Mind you I realy didn't need sand blasting done to my bonnet and bar.:cussing:

Appologies for the wrong turn but we had a good run and I am preety knackerd now anyway.

Kurt sorry I didn't get more of a chance to talk but I was chasing the little boy around most stops.

AS mentioned, no collar thanks, but a few iced coffee's wouldnt go astray, helps settle my stomach. As for wedging me in, my waistline has slimmed in recent times, so there will be no wedging me in anything
