QLD Jan 21 2007 Cruise

Hi all,

following on from earlier EOI on a January cruise, the date is set as Sunday 21 January.

Departing Goodna at 1000 for lunch at Maroon Dam, down near Rathdowney, then a run up to Woodenbong or the NSW border, and back to Goodna via Kooralbyn, Boonah, Kalbar, Peak Crossing.

More details on stops, maps etc. during the next week or so as I am doing a recce this Saturday to finalise all those little details.

Boonah has nice bakery etc. so a good place to pick up last minute stuff for lunch. BBQs at the dam are wood fired....so need to take wood if we are going to BBQ, may be easier to take prepared or bought food....up to you.

Post up please if you are interested in coming so we can get an idea of numbers.

Roads are generally in good repair, from recent drives in the area, but last minute updates after Saturday.

Don't forget UHFs if you have them.....very convenient......

Well a bloody big spanner in my works for that day now.....but just means someone else will have to lead on the day, probably someone who comes on the recce this Saturday......Voodoo, Big Jim etc. please put your hands up.....

I have to be in Canberra now for a meeting with Feds on the Monday, and have to leave here that Sunday morning, was the longest I could put them off, the week after is too late for them.

I will still be able to assist with organisation etc right up until the day before, 20th, so all is not lost.

Yeah I know, but it was the best excuse I could come up with at the time.....lol

But its work and how I have to pay for my excesses....

Anyway, this Sat will be a precursor and I will just have to have enough fun on this run.

So while you lot are out playing on the 21st I will be on cruise control, threading the needle of NSW speed cameras all the way to Canberra. And on the way back, double demerits will have started again for Aus Day, so even more care needs to be taken..... :(
