Just a quick question.Wouldn't an iron block be best for that due to excessive loads on engines in boats?

Talk to Mark or Shaun at Powertorque Engines in Brisbane. They have a lot of experiance not only in LS1's but offshore boat racing too. They can build you engines to whatever spec you need.

try eagle auto spares. They sell new ls1 and ls2 engines. cast block ls series engines as well. they are good guys to deal with
