Typical, as soon as you talk about trading in the old wheels it starts having dramas.........
Just sold the WH to a friend up here and while changing the oil for him i noticed coolant dripping from oil filter, it appears to be coming from above the oil filter housing, it is hard to see much without pulling the air box and a few other bits off. It could be an oring or gasket somewhere on that head. It only started leaking recently. It is also only a slight leak that takes up when engine has warmed up. It is definately coolant as did the taste test, (tastes like green almonds) when i was biting a finger nail later on.:eyes:
Has anybody had a similar leak in this area?
Does the alternator support bracket bolt up and seal the water jscket at all or is it just bolted to the block?
There is a large metal plug with allen key socket head which may be leaking?
I have never had the Gen III apart so any info appreciated.

Gasket on the water pump might be shagged.

Make use of the Iron content in the soil. Grab a hand full and drop it in the coolant.

problem solved.

joking of course.
