2001 VX Clubsport SII R8 M6
Picked her up from Holden back in March 2006.

Compared to my last car (VS SS auto), this car is an absolute pleasure to drive. Handles well, big brakes, comfortable seats, shes a manual and most of all, plenty of power with the 5.7 LS1 under the hood. But after a couple of months i just was not happy with the exhaust note that she had. So after hours of reading about other people and their modified cars in here (i was warned!), i found that not only changing the exhaust system would give her a better note, there was more power at my finger tips in the form of an LS1 edit.
With Mick and Frank at APS pointing me in the right direction i booked her in for a MAF tune.
MAF Tune
K&N Panel filter
2nd hole mod
4" YellaTerra MAF pipe
=194rwkw
APS MAF Tune
=223.8rwkw/300rwhp
After Mick used his "magic" tool, EFILive, along with their Mainline Dyno he completely transformed this car. With PULP being around $1.45 at the time, she went from (average)19L/100kms down to 17L/100kms in mostly stop/start traffic. More power, torque and better fuel economy things could not be better. Or could they?
Exhaust and cats
2.5" Twin S/S Di Filippo exhaust
3" S/S Hiflow cats
Re-Tune
=233.3rwkw/312rwhp
This time i was after a change in the exhaust note. I was after the burble like the old VS SS i had. Mick suggested a full Di Filippo system coupled with 3" S/S cats to wake up the old girl. I had a bit of a think and decided to keep the HSV short extractors on. Well after only a couple weeks of putting up with some slight cabin drone i was on the phone to Frank to order in some 4>1 extractors.
4>1 Extractors
4>1 Di Filippo Extractors (ceramic coated)
Re-Tune
=239.2rwkw/339rwhp
This totally eliminated all drone and gave her the exact note i was after all along.
194rwkw to 239rwkw
Sounds and goes like an animal
All i can say is a big thank-you to Frank and Mick and all the crew down at APS in Frankston.:yahoo:
Now whats this RipShift thing all about:burnout:
