Being that next year is the 20th anniversery of the Walky I hope that HSV will bring out a 20th Ann Walkinshaw...

My mind boggles.

Does anyone think we will see it? I thought about it after seeing the green beast in Motor

Walkinshaws were painted Panorama Silver.
Highly doubt that we will see another "Walkinshaw", but then again people probably said the same thing about Monaros when the H-series ceased production.

Mentioning the Panorama Silver colour gave me another idea.

They could wait another 5 years and release a Panorama Silver model to commemorate the silver (25th) anniversay of HSV and the original Walky.

It would be cool if they built 750 individually numbered cars like the original Walky. But that's a lot of cars to sell so rather than make it a mega-priced hot-rod perhaps it could be a bread-and-butter model like a Clubsport with extras.

with walkinshaw performance now operating it isnt that much of a stretch? theyd never make 750 of em though. the SV6000 was said to be the sucessor of the SV5000, so how bout it HSV? an HSV VE walkinshaw?

The mind boggles when Aust. leading HSV salesman invites comment on this

As long as it is Panorama silver or a silver variant, and have a hugely offensive bodykit then :bravo:

There wont be another "walkinshaw". Really, there never was a "walkinshaw" anyway! It was a VL SS Group A, and there wont be another "Group A" Commodore.
It was just a name that enough people gave it, for it to then stick around.

Well there were never really any "brock" commodores either :p

The only way it would hold merit is if it was built for PCAA or similar

People that call the HDT cars "Brock" Commodores are quite simply just lazy. You could argue that using the Brock name is useful in differentiating "his" HDT cars from the stuff like the VN "HDT" Aero (cough), but they are still a "HDT".
All his cars after the "HDT" cars were a shadow of their former self. The late Brock cars were from when he went all nutty with his chiropractor buddy and totally phucked the rich wicket he was on...
There was a "Brock" Samara though! And a B8 Falcon, and from memory a couple of nearly stock VL models with his name.
Back to the original question, there wont be a "walkinshaw", because it's really an "SS Group A", and that can't and wont happen!

The Walkinshaw was set apart from the standard VL ss by the features, Twin throtts, injection, areodynamic kit..
If Holden were going to bring back something outrageous again it would need to be a major stand out item like the original..

Major engine upgrades, Harrop intercooled blowers, adjustable race suspension and more track oriented brake setup.

And of course it needs to represent the name Walkinshaw..:serenade:

Ah the Brock EA Falcon

Didn't he tweak a "Niki" too? :hide:

As far as NO WALKINSHAW...... never underestimate a marketing department :deal:
Especially with Mr Tom back on the scene permanently (for now) and with WP aiming for market share ;)

I think both Ford and Holden need a hero car again, as there isnt much to dream after anymore. The ford Boys love the GTHO and Holden Men love Monaros Wilkys Group A's. We have the GTS but that doesnt seem so special anymore..

Yeah, it's true that it's not officially called a Walkinshaw. But c'mon... it's not the end of the world if that's what people call it. The HDT version was also a VL SS Group A, so calling the HSV version a Walkinshaw leaves no doubt about which car you're referring to. In fact I reckon that's probably why the nickname was invented in the first place.

The official name was "SS Group A SV" by the way.
