Guys,
I have a VX Clubsport and want to change my wheels and mags. I am looking at 19"x8" deep dish SSW mags and Toyo tyres. Has anyone had any experience with Toyo Tyres? I want to know if they are worth purchasing

I am using 235/40 ZR18 Toyo tpg ($230 each fitted) on the Monaro
http://www.toyo.com.au/TPG%20page.htm
Have done about 12,000 ks on them.
They are a soft compound (silica), so they are a bit squirmy in the heat, excellent grip in the wet, very quiet (compared to the original bridgestones and the cheap crappy silverstone ftz's that the dealer put on). They are down to about 60% at the moment. They don't give a lot of notice when they let go, but compared to the other two brands that I have used they are better for communication in the rear end. Although the original Bridgestones were down to 25% tread before I replaced them (so I will reserve judgment, although I have used other bridgestones before on other cars and have learned to hate them).
I bought them because I live in Melbourne, which is often cold and has a fair bit of very light rain (well it used to anyway), so the harder compound tyres where giving me grief.
I will buy them again.
Have you had a read of this thread?

have am running toyo TranspathZ or something, done around 35,000k's on them and should get another 15k or so.
Grip in the Wet is not as good as i would have liked, But they Hook up really well in the Dry. mine are 18" 235's and these are the tyres i ran my PB on.
i would buy them again.

Running 2 X Toyo 235/40 ZR18's on rear of Red... and have the new Goodyear high Silica performance equivalent on the front. (will have to check the name on the tyre later and edit)
Yep, "No name" tyres, which were 180 each fitted, and IMO a better tyre than the Toyo...

Im running Toyo Proxes4 245/35/19's on the front. Still yet 2 kill the remaining NS2's on the rear. Had them for about 4 months everyday driving and Im very happy much smoother, quieter ride than the Nangkangs and great grip wet or dry. Had a mate crapping his pants at the corner speed I could get in the wet :D . I cant wait to get them on the back aswell.
Cheers

dam u dave, must learn to contain my right foot.
proxes T1-R awesome grip 245/35/19
they hookup quiet well even with a 5k stall, 90/10's play a big part to i'd say
mileage ? (increases as throttle decreases) :D

I have a pair of Toyo Proxes4 on the back of my SS and they are great. Traction is fantastic, especially at $200 a piece.

I have 235/17/40 and 215/17/40 Toyo Proxes T1-R for my Torana. I would have liked to buy Goodyear Eagle Revspec RS02 but they are not available in the sizes I need.
Wheels 2006 rated the Eagle as the best.

Recently replaced the 265/35/18 Toyo Proxes T1-S's that I was running on the rear. Would I ever consider using them again - NO.
Had proxes t1-r on my old S16, and loved them to bits. Really suited the fwd.
Getting 2 proxes4 fitted to my xr6t on thursday... $110 each, cant complain :D

 I am about to replace my rear tyres as they are just about gone, so the Toyos seem to be the go, but I am not sure.
What is everyone's thought on the best tyre, regardless of cost - in terms of ride, grip (wet & dry), noise ,side wall movement etc... ?

i have heard good reports about the proxes but steer clear of the transpath or something like that had them a while ago and last all of about 5 minutes a very rough tyre on the road and bugger all grip!

These were on my SS when I bought it. Seem to be wearing really well. Hasn't rained since I got the car so can't comment on wet performance, but dry they are great and are quiet!
Toyo Transpath (http://www.toyo.com.au/TASW%20page.htm).

Just recently put proxes4 on all round, excellent tyre imo. Much better than the previous ventus ever were.
