Guys,
Just wondering what you can get away with here in WA in terms of the law - Im leaning to future turbo upgrades but hear it is a bit of a no-no in WA. Knowing that, are s/c's legal, hard to get an engineering cert for etc? Im debating a future cam or s/c. I understand a cam would prob be a fair wack cheaper but wont produce as much punch. I see Delco runs a whipple, wouldnt mind knowing how hard it is to get such a set-up done and how much bang for your buck your getting vs cam. At the mo i only have the zorst and headers, otrcai and maffless tune - need to address my auto and for one of the above upgrades. Any opinions on power output vs bang for your buck?

Tim, the best thing to do is go and see the guys that install them and get a few quotes on different installs. MWS & Chipmaster seem to be the people you would want to talk to about FI in WA. They do a lot of this stuff as can be seen in this thread Blower Crazy (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=56108)

Various types of setups from relatively cheap to relatively uncheap.;)

It's my favourite thread.

Dollars is what it all comes down to though. A cam is a good thing for the dollars. All up should be under $5000. With any FI setup it is going to be more than likely above $10000.

I'm going the 402 option in the next couple of months and don't expect to get away with it for much under $20000.

Any news on the situation with turbo'ed V8's in WA. Last I heard it was entirely illegal.

I think a lot of mod's are illegal untill the car they are fitted to is passed by the local authority . I am not sure if somone has set a presedent by getting a GEN3/4 passed and licenced for the road with an aftermarket turbo on it in W.A but it looks like Tuna is looking into it .

Post 27 on this (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=58944&page=2) link .

As a project we supercharged a gen3 with a capa powerdyne unit. The ute was taken to Marks workshop where injectors and tune was done. NO internal work done just yet.

$7500-8000 fitted and dynoed 400hp at wheels.

Very happy.

That looks like a Gen-T1000 intake pipe. What happened to the T1000 WA Perf was setting up that was running 100+mph at 660'?

At the end of the day you want someone to put you a package together that works and wa perf results speak for themselves ! say no more

Just haven't heard of any final times out of the WA turbo camp so was curious to what they were up to in terms of times.

Hey guys thanks to all the people that have been sending pm,s .. very much appreciated ... as for all the legal mumbo jumbo on either blower /turbo install in wa its best just to ring mitch and have a chat with him in reguards to both blower or turbo packages in WA and how to go about it all , prices ect ect !!

here is some turbo installs that mitch has put together for the ones that asked ...

thanks clinton

Did you end up getting any of those police passed or licensed yet?

Still keep to see what they have been running down the strip as last I heard they were still under testing and hadn't finished a full run.
