Hello, a mate bought my WH off me when we ordered our SS V. The problem is the air con is now going straight to windscreen vents. Never did this once while we owned it. Interested to see if anyone else has had this problem and what was the fix? Nearest dealer is 600K's away so any advice welcome, it may be a vacuum leak or a faulty actuator? Haven't had a chance to pull anything to bits yet but will have a bit of a look and see on sunday. Thanks in advance.

I had this problem on my VT Berlina, seemed to be OK at low speeds, but worse at higher speeds. Holden diagnosed it as the 'actuator' and replaced, but it was never quite the same afterwards.

Congrats on the new purchase well done
Has he fitted a new head unit (cd player) by any chance since owning the car may have disconnected wiring or vac hoses just a thought \
good luck

Just in the off chance this has happened to some one else. I have a problem with my aircon in that when i switch it to the highest setting, the air just stops completly.
Switch it back to 2 and the air comes out again.

You're in luck: might be a simple fix. My VZ did this and it was simply a hole in the vacuum hose that is used to actuate the internal vents. Without vacuum it goes straight to the windscreen vents. Not sure where the hoses are on your car but on mine they are to the left of the engine bay (if standing in front of the car) at the back, right near the split engine covers where they are easy to damage when taking said covers on and off. Let me know 'cause I think you'll find that is the problem.

Thanks for the info, will have a look at it on the weekend, hoping the problem is in the engine bay and not behind the dash. The car gas done 120000k's so hopefully it is a vacuum line.;)

air speed velocitor, located under the centre of your windscreen. Take out the vent panels ontop of your dash that hide the tweeters and it is sitting right in the middle. Easy change
From memory shouldnt be more than $40

Mine did the same thing when we removed the boost controller and forgot to remove the T peice. Sounds like you have the same problem

Don't get me started about air con troubles... our VZ enjoyed pumping out really hot air down near your feet, when you had the aircon on. SO you would have a freezing face but boiling feet! :werd:
Complained to Holden a few times, but they never could fix it, and as the lease was nearing its end, we gave up with trying to get it fixed.
Goodluck with getting yours back on board

Sorry to bring up an old thread
Im having this problem where i am only getting air coming out to the windscreen, nothing else, this is on my VZ exec to which i have just had gas fitted so i am assuming they forgot to reconnect this hose, my question is, where can i find this on a VZ alloytec, otherwise ill be waitin for holden to do it :(
