Has anyone installed the VE accessory centre console mobile phone mount and holder?

If so, it would be appreciated if you could post some pics.

Thanks.

Hey Glenn,

Have a look at this website. ClicOn is the bigest manufacturer of screwless mobile and PDA mounts in the world.

http://www.kioskcommunications.com.au/kiosk/ProductBrowse.asp?tid=2&cid=6&mid=979

I highly reccomend these mounts and they give 3 options for the VE and leave the factory unit for dead.

why not upgrade to a bluetooth phone? fortunately, it cost me nothing changing from CDMA to next G and now I just drop the phone in the console or door. No need for a mount.

Still need to see screen for incoming call screening and for dialing numbers not voice programmed.

Also secures mobile phone in the event of sudden deceleration - ie. a collision thus preventing it becoming a lethal flying projectile.

I bought a mobile phone holder today from supacheap. clips into the aircon vent and cost $6. Yep, sounds cheap but does the job, doesn't look nasty and you can put it on aircon vent...

I use the bluetooth.

My phone is however placed in the space where the Left Hand Drive hand brake lever would be situated - ie on passenger side near the gear lever. Only mod was to stick some black padding (in this case the soft part of velcro tape - ie not the part with the plastic hooks) - to stop the phone from sliding.

The phone is accesible, and is always in the same spot when in the car. I can see the inbound number as the phone screen lights up. Plus fills up a storage gap.
