Well i found a link from another forum showing the VE SS in the hero colour of morpheous. here are the pics.

Someone posted a link to the http://gm.wieck.com pics yesterday and looking at them (the bottom ones) I thought it wasn't bad, though not good enough to convince me to change my order from Nickel. I don't normally really like silver cars but Nickel in the VE has got something!

However, seeing the 'live' pics (the top ones) Morpheus looks more like the Cadbury colour we all originally suspected it was (see old threads on Morpheus) - hideous!! :spew: :spew: :spew:

personally it would look better as a dark deeper purple like the VY-VZ came in....

It looks okay in the official photos, but the bright lights of the Motor Show photos make it look a bit lavender. A few of Holden's recent hero colours are very light sensitive like that - Ignition, for instance, just looks like bright, solid orange under artificial lights but is much nicer under natural sunglight. Morpheous might be the same.

yes, u need to see the car in person to see how good the colour is. Its no where near as cadbury looking as those motorshow pics make it look.

I remember there being a few VZ SV6's come through in that colour, and it certaining wasn't that offensive

It's OK, the promotional pics look better.

It does have a bit of that camelion paint going for it, where the colour changes depending on the viewing angle. Is that why the called it Morpheous?.

when I looked there last night, Morpheous was not a choice.

I was thinking i go for a VZ HSV but at around $45K for a decent one i have now pretty much made my mind up to spend the extra $10K and get a new VE SSV :yahoo: :driving: :yahoo:
just wanna get a decent deposit together so the loan is smaller and so i have some money to do some mods straight away.
so will wait a couple of months before i order one...:thumbsup:

There is a VY s pac in the town i live in that colour. Had never seen another one like it, it has been around for ages. Im not a massive fan of it, as someone said earlier at first i thought it may have been an ex-cadbury car...

Looks like it is on the Holden website, but not the HSV one yet. Not that i expected much from the HSV website anyway...

Im not sold on it... hopefully I see one in the flesh soon, then I can decide.

I'd have to agree. The official promo shots on wieck looked good but under those lights it really does look lighter.

see i though cosmo was ok, put this purple is a bit too pink in the photos, havent seen it in real life.

I don't mind the cosmo colour, it's very dark and looks great. Getting into a morpheus coloured SS, well I think you'd need to be dressed in high heels and fishnets for it to work.

I think its not bad but not sure if I would buy it. Might look good on a Calais V dumped with 20" S/sports and Pontiac G8 lip spoiler :)
It will stand out down the track. Like when you see a purple XB GT or purple HQ GTS and your jaw drops.
Still cant believe everyone loves Redhot so much. My mate has it on his VX SS and its faded something shocking. I guess if you have a garage its ok. But most red cars I see a few years old are faded badly.
