Friday’s Australia Day public holiday weekend saw a solid showing of entrants and spectators make their way out to Calder Park for the weekly off-street drags.
The BBF powered Demaj RX4 got out of the blocks well and improved all night going 8.4/160. Mick’s 1TUFLJ Torana also ran well for an 8.5/155. Steve Athens’ Haddad 350 Camaro went an early 8.13/182 before improving to a 7.79/183. Other quick V8’s included the Windsor Cortina going 9.4s, the sweet looking Valiant that ran into the tends for a 10.98/123 while Bert’s crowd favourite LPG Chev turbo Toyota Van improved to a 10.68/123 on street radials. Shaun’s big green HT Monaro was very consistent going 9.0s at 140mph all night.
Mohamed’s Pro-Tek enhanced R33 GT-R sounded tough and recorded a 10.66/131 on street radials. Rajab Racing had a couple of customer’s out. Chopa’s RB30 Calais recorded an off-the-trailer 9.34/148 before running a new personal best of 9.15/149 that elevates him back into the fullBOOST VL top 10 records (http://www.fullboost.com.au/records.php?class=1). Daniel’s 5-speed manual BT1 XGMTOG also ran hard for a quick 11.33/129. Michael’s All Race sponsored SR20 Corolla keeps on improving and ran a personal best pass of 9.76/137.

Theres about another 300 meters and then dusty open paddocks if you cant stop by then...
