How much should I sell my brakes for ..

Hello.
I am looking at selling my car soon but my Mechanic wishes to buy off me my nice big brakes and put his smaller ones on my car as I will most probably be trading it in..

Car is a VS V8 (BT1) I put these calipers + rotors on it a while back ..

HSV 330 mm and 315 mm ... front calipers are the corvette ones (pads have the 2 big rings on them to locate onto the calliper) ?

How much should I sell them to him for ?

This is the PBR PK01 kit goes for around $2200-$2500 new. Depends on how old it is, though half new price would be good start less the fact your mechanic is doing the work plus supplying his old brakes. Maybe $1000 or a bit more if you can.

I purchased the same sized brake kit 2nd hand from a VY GTO for $1100 if that gives you any guide.

Kit comprised of:

4 x HSV embossed red calipers
4 x curved and slotted rotors
4 x rubber brake lines
All brake pads.

I purchased a set of used HSV Performance brakes front and rear calipers and rotors & lines for $725. That was for the thicker VT onwards gear. Your VS stuff has thinner rotors and a smaller centre hole.

Sounds like the fronts are C4 calipers with that pad retaining system
Bit intirigued by the rear though
Sure they are 315mm ?
Usually........ VS would have 280mm vented on the HSV style kit

If so this would make it a PK12 or 13 depending whether it has IRS or not

I had the guys up at Wholesale Suspension Penrith put the brakes on now almost 5 years ago...
Steve said they are what woul be on the VS GTS if that helps.. I can take pics but will have to get them hosted though....

VS GTS had the C4 caliper and a 330x28mm rotor. The VT Performance brakes have a C5 caliper and 330x32mm Rotor.

The VS setup is worth a few hundred at best. They dont really stop a car very well and a stock 298mm VT setup is actually better. I believe Ryzz swapped his VS GTS brakes to the newer caliper (there was a thread)
