HI All,
I am new to the forum and indeed new to V8's, the SSV is my first (being the separation anxiety purchase), picked it up on the 29th Dec 2006 and must say I very happy, no mechanical problems at all, just two cosmetic problems.
Anyway, my question is, what would be the best mod to do to the exhaust system on the car, I originally liked the note from it, but after reading a lot of posts and hearing some of the sound files posted here, I must have one two, and will it affect the warranty at all.
Please be gentle with me, I am not up on all the tech talk, any advise and who to go to in Melbourne would be appreciated...
Cheers

 and welcome. We all look forward to seeing some pics of your SSV baby.

Hi mate, welcome to the site.
Check out KPM in Adelaide. They can ship an exhaust to your location. Exhaust System is handmade, has lifetime warranty and looks superb on the forum sites and produced great dyno results on a VE SS. Fitting one to the VE GTS next week with CAI and tune.
All the best,

Congrats on the purchase!!
Depends where in Melb you are. If in the south east go and see G&D (forum sponsor) in Cranbourne (soon to be Dandenong). blackbettyhsv had them fit a dual 2.5 system to his VE R8 and is rapt in how it sounds. When I get my SSV next month I certainly want to hear his system but am also interested in the dual 3" Sureflo system.
If on the other side of Melb you may as well go direct to DiFilippo who are out that way and talk to them.

Welcome aboard scarpie!
Don't know about the warranty as I bought my car out of warranty.
I can highly recommend Sureflow Exhausts. Greg is great to talk to and his service is outstanding. I ordered a 3.5 medium for my wagon. Got it delivered to Melbourne and fitted it at my local exhaust shop. Couldn't be happier!:yahoo:

Single 3.5" for SSV???
Dual 3" would be the way to go on that car.
Check out the video on the Sureflow Exhaust website.... AWESOME!!!

May not be the right place to ask this, but why is everyone going the dual 3" on the VE's? The motors are no bigger than previous models where dual 2.5" was the norm...
And sort of on the same not (not sure if there even is one) but what would be wrong with a 3.5" single, for the same reason above...
Dual 3inch pretty big unless future plans i would guess it would loss a bit of pressure?
Check Gregs dyno sheets on the sureflo site and your questions will be answered. Cant do a single system on the ve and if you ask why not you should have a look.

Im pretty sure that dual 3" is the go on the new 6.0L as the typical gen3 "torque hole" is no longer there. Well thats what i've been told anyways.

Cool thanks guys now I know :)
Whats the diff between the VE 6L and the VZ though, cause I never heard of anyone putting twin 3s on a VZ...?
The VE comes with a twin system. Pipe each side.

if you just wont a good sound from your ve .
i have just finished making 2 single outlet pipes of 2.5mm in s/steel.
I took the standard rear mufflers of and fitted these pipes with no mufflers, it sounds great.
just finished fitting them 1 hour ago and drove home i will post some pix on the weekend.
i love my ve ss:yahoo:

How much drone with no rear mufflers?

Geez, two 90 degree bends? Can't imagine that would do it too much good?

Am sure that's no different to any VE V8 system. All he's effectively done is remove the rear mufflers.

it only has some drone at low speed under 50kph.
no drone at cruising speeds of 60 80 100 110 which are the speeds i use it in the country area i live in.
for sixty bucks the sound is worth it i can live with that.

gees... up over your rear axle don't think that would be to good?
is int that almost 180 degrees ? :teach:

Good concept, cheap solution, but can't say I like that single tip look on
either side... They just look so fat with the quad pipes  just
my 2 cents

i will fit larger 5 inch oval tips to each side later to fill up the space . but yes it was all about getting a good note for near to nothing in cost.
