Hello V8 lovers,

I am about to embark on some new mods for my VY SS Wagon and was after your opinions. Currently my car is putting out 221rwkw with all the usual mods.......difillippo exhaust, CAI, Edit and 3.7 diff gears. I would think (apart from the 3.7 diff gears maybe) these mods would not turn any potential purchaser off buying this vehicle, it may even make it a tad more desirable. Therefore, at the moment I believe I would have a reasonably desirable car (being a SS Wagon with the right mods) when it comes to sale time.

I am about to install a cam (not a big one.........one with good manners) and a 2700 stallie. My question is: will these mods make my car really hard to sell when it comes time to upgrade? I can understand I wouldn't get much back if any of the $5k the mods will cost but will a 130k VY SS Wagon with a cam and a stallie have very few buyers? Will I have to slash the price drastically over what it would have been worth without the mods or just be really lucky and find the right buyer?

Most of you guys here are rev heads and these mods might appeal to you, but I'm sure a 290kw (seemingly untouched) Sports Wagon might appeal to many, many more people.

Your thoughts please.

Given whats already done, I cant see why it wouldnt make it more desirable.

People after a dead stocker will walk past it as its already modded, and for those looking for one with a few special touches, you're just adding a couple more, which the buyer will be getting cheaper than if they did them after purchase...

Thats how I see it anyway.

i would do the cam and converter if you really want one, and keep the old parts, then if you find that you cant sell the car because of the mods offer to refit the cars original parts, the biggest thing i have found in selling a car with cam, converter and diff gears and the usual mods is people concerned with fuel consumption, but there is usually some one out there that will want a nice modded car where fuel isnt a big concern, it may just take a little longer to find them

I used to think resale would be hard until I found this site.I know the next car I buy will probably come from here as I would love to get it with,TT, diff gears, tune ,tex, suspension, big wheels etc. What I am trying to say is if I was in the market for a SS wagon yours would be more attractive to me than a stocker.

Hi leroy I think the high K's may deter people also. Then again wagons are very popular and to pick up a modded one some young bloke will snap it up quick. Go for it.....

Since we have had our baby (11 months ago) my wife is at me to get an SUV or station wagon. My first thought was to swap my VT for a VY SS wagon auto that she could drive. So your car would be very attractive to someone like me!! Mind you, I think I would whack a turbo on it, would make a very quick and practical ride

Maybe I'll go a GenTT instead of the cam then you won't have to spend anything when I sell you my car.......;)

Sorry Dazvyss, now I can't afford to pay you your commission. :p

I'm not too sure if I understand your question? Are you asking how much do I want for my car? I hadn't planned on selling it yet.
