Good to hear mate. I have read that you have had a few dramas with your previous car. This will make up for it hey.

Whats the game plan to survive the next month and a bit until your new ride arrives?

DeanoHSV,

Well done, great combo

Same as mine, I opted for Sat Nav also, but with the early delays, went without (still have the option to fit at cost). Reports so far it still needs some work?? Please let me know how it is/what you think of it?

Time will drag, I bet you call the dealer 10 times from now till then :deal:

Cheers
Steve

2 months !!! I waited 4 months for the GTS and 8 months for the Coupe ... 2 months is nothing.

:stick:

Seriously, it will go faster than you think, try not to think about it too much, it helps. Sounds like the perfect combination to me ... can't wait to see some pics come April.

Nice purchase Deano. I'm sure many others here will agree with me that the wait is a killer - I'm four weeks into my wait and I'm hoping there's only another two weeks ahead of me, and it's been the longest four weeks ever.

Sorry for dragging my semi old thread back up but i cant contain myself.

called dealer to see if he got the authorisation letter to license the SSV with my new custom plates and i couldnt help but ask what the story is with the car...i couldnt hang up without an update

he said car is built and rolled off the production line....now its gotta get transported here...
so he expects it on the morning of the 29th march....
and he wants to get it off his hands before the end of the month...me thinks he wants it added to his sales for the month of march...:p

either way i am exstatic...should pick it up next friday or saturday morning for a weekend run in.....:yahoo:

The missus and I had to do some compromising...... She wanted an sv6 I wanted an ssv and she didnt like any of the colours, but she liked the morpheous. Long story short she got the colour and I got the rest, but she is the one who has to drive it every day because I work away. But the colour is growing on me but I havent seen it in person only a sample on a toy car the dealer had.

The wait is because they had an issue with the paint. Dealer said that they had to fix the paint but it should be here in about a week. :yahoo:

Dean, half ya luck knowing yours is only a week away! (I hate you!)

I only just ordered mine last week (07 SSV, 6M, Redhot, Sunroof, DVD, Park Assist, Full Size Spare, Alarm Upgrade, SS Onyx Matts, Onyx Dash & Redhot Leather...); its been 4 days now and I'm dying!

I know exactly what you've gone/going through... they said it has to come directly from the factory and might not be here until mid-late april (but they are pushing to get it earlier for me - AND I'll be making sure of it as I call the dealer everyday LOL!),

Hope yours turns up next week for you mate and its perfect! Cheers, Aaron :yahoo:

it should turn up this week as the car has come off the factory floor and is on its way here from SA...just depends if it gets here on time so the dealer can license, clean and do all the pre delivery checks...he is very keen to get rid of it this week to add to his march sales figures....:deal:

Just curious mate I ordered mine from brian gardeners.... MIne should stand out as well because as far as I can find out it is the only morpheous ssv in perth the other one is a standard ss.

Are you going to throw all those mods into your straight away or sit on it for a while?? Just looking at cai and tune for mine. Nothing too exciting.

well tint and alarm upgrade are going on pretty much straight away.

ripshifter as soon as its available.

exhaust, coilovers, cai and tune as soon as money permits...wanna do in the first 6-9months but see how things go.

i am also looking for some nice 20" rims...looking for something in black, shadow chrome or black chrome but there is nothing that i like out there.

thinking about some visual mods of a chevy grill for the front to replace the big dinner plate holden one....

like i said a house to save for and also a stage one performance kit for my jetski...

i just received the news i didnt want to hear!!!!

The fleet manager called me and informed me Holden decided to build my car minus the options of sunroof and sat nav...so the car they sent over is a standard SSV M6 in black with onyx leather!!!!!

so my options are:
1 - keep the car as is
2 - keep the car as is and then get HSVi to fit the options when they setup here in roughly June...umm i dont think so...the sunroof means a different ROOF!!! so i am not having HSVi hack at the roof and strengthen it...i want the proper one!
3 - order replacement vehicle which a order number is generated already and prioritised for a build/delivery late april.

option 3 is what i went for....if i am paying the good part of $50K i want the car that i ordered...not something i just have to settle with otherwise i would have bought a stock SSV M6 black second hand..

I said well what sort of compensation am i gonna get for the fcuk up...he said he spoke to the dealer principle and he says thats its Holdens fcuk up and not theres so need to raise it through Holden Customer Service...which is fair enough and i dont blame the dealer at all....

so off i go tomorrow to call Holden Customer Service with my old and new GM order numbers and see what they can do to compensate me on this!!!
lets hope they are understanding!!!

and to top it off i miss out on Johns cruise setup for late April!!!!:cussing:

not kidding mate...
in the back of my mind i thought something like this will happen...especially when my horoscope for the week started with:
"You have planned everything to the last detail and things will go as you planned, right? WRONG! Someone or something torpedoes your plans at the last minute, when its too late to make any changes"
and yeah will approach it politely...at the end of the day mistakes happen and hopefully they will do the right thing by me....

Mojo
yeah i dont understand how this is possible but hey mistakes happen.
apparently the dealer will send me a email from holden...apparently they admit fault...but will wait to see that...

first thing in the morning i am up at 5am perth time to catch the customer service and see what can be organised and get some more information
hopefully they knock some more money off the price like not being charged for sat nav or sunroof...or add the DVD option for free....not holding my breath but lets wait and see i guess

how did it go with Holden Customer Service? any luck

well i called them and got given a reference number.
the guy said he will investigate and see if the dealer stuffed up or they did and sort out something for me and get back to my hopefully today....

spoke to the dealer this morning as well and he said the new one is ordered and the Holden Distribution manager is on the case and has promised it to be prioritised to be delivered by end of april....

so maybe i will still be part of the cruise...dont count me out yet John :yahoo:

both the guy at holden and the dealership guy were both surprised that i was so patient and calm and thanked me for it...
and i think i must have mentioned at least 5 times to the dealership guy that its in his hands now and i want this car to be delivered exactly the way i ordered it and things to go smooth...lets hope soo....
also promising a max of 2 day turnaround from when the car gets here to when i pick up...so licensing, washing, pre delivery checks, etc...

dont really like my chances of having the DVD thrown in for free and if they do they might use it as an excuse to say its now coming in may or something so i will just wait and see what Holden say i guess...

******************
no call from Holden yet but i finally got the email trail from Dealer to the Distribution coordinator... i think its best i not say too much just incase i get into trouble but the basics are that the car was held up by the ppl in melbourne due to the sunroof and sat nav not being installed...basically order from dealer didnt match finished product...

options available were outlined yesterday in a email and thats when i was informed....

from what i can tell it is a mix up by holden. they are prioritising the car for a late april delivery

will have to see what Holden come up with now.....

before anyone starts saying i am bashing holden i am not.

i am simply stating the facts and what i am going through...although i was pissed to here the news late yesterday afternoon as anyone else in my situation would i have calmed down and done everything as correct as i believe, treated all parties with respect and just hope i get treated the same way.

will not put me off buying another holden at all...just makes the wait for this brilliant billion dollar baby longer and soo soo harder

I sometimes get the missus to drive my car and I sit in the back. Very comfy. Ya get a whole different perspective of your car from there. I should get her a black chauffers hat :hide:

:lmao: my dad gets my mum to do the same thing in their Statesman.. He got me to do it too when I had a drive of it, him and my hubby sat in the back watching a damn movie.

Not long to go then Deano if you get it at the end of April :) although it would still suck having to wait another several weeks.

Dean, just read of your disappointing news, sorry to hear!

Whilst it is essentially a "Holden" error I'd be checking again with them that they can't compensate you for the extended wait - I guess it would depend what kind of compensation you were looking for / expecting too??

I was informed today that mine is down for late April delivery, yet from what I've heard regarding yours and another guy on here (having to wait 4 months)... I'll believe it when I see it!

Good luck mate and well done keeping your 'cool' about it too - I hope that wait and frustration are worth it in the end hey!

First of all i want to say WELL DONE HOLDEN

I got a call back from the same guy i spoke to yesterday, they looked into it and indirectly admitted they stuffed up by building me the wrong car.
they apparently have put together a written offer for me for the "hardship" & "extended wait" and a "thanks for giving us the opportunity to correct a mistake" which the guy got approval from his manager and is drafting me a letter to send out to me that i should receive within the week.

He wouldnt say what it was as once he writes up letter it needs to get the formal approval but his manager has OK it so far...

i dont know what it is...i could be getting excited over a fuel voucher or LS1Grange could be watching DVDs in my backseat on the cruise...
i never mentioned what i would like at the initial call.

but at least they are doing something about it...and thats the main thing...
mistakes happen but its how you go about it that what makes the difference...

That's great to hear. Kudos to Holden for (indirectly) admitting their error.

More kudos to you for keeping your head.

Now, could someone from Holden please approve spending a fraction of a billion dollars to audit your ordering and production systems to explain how an "ordered" car can be produced without the correct options. All the computerised, fancy-schmancy production line systems are no frickin good if they don't interface with the ordering system.

I've no idea how car orders are processed into the production system to be produced on the line, but I would have thought in this day and age systems were designed for this crap to be avoided.

although they wont tell me how and why i do have a theory behind how this sort of mistake, which apparently is the first time its EVER happened, is possible.

See the dealer ordering system and the holden factory build system are two different systems which do not interface with each other...basically two separate programs.
so i am guessing that someone manually transfers the order information from one program to the holden build program......

its quite silly that of all for such a large manufacturer they havent had some IT guys come in and either interface the two products or develop something to interface to the factory system...

but i could be wrong...its has happened before...once :p

well lets say it was what i expected and the DVD player was wishful thinking but hey you cant blame me for trying.
Basically Holden have offered me the 15,000km/12month service for FREE at my local holden dealer and up to and including $300 worth of Holden merchandise...
wonder if the merchandise includes HSVDT & HRT or just Holden merchandise.

it something rather than nothing and is pretty reasonable i believe so i am happy....lets just hope they deliver the car in perfect condition and deliver it ASAP...

BTW anyone with a VE V8 had a 15,000km service yet and able to tell me approx how much it cost???

so 14/4(saturday) dealer should see it and i should tuesday 17/4 or wednesday 18/4 :yahoo:

nothing is confirmed yet by dealer as i found out after they left for home but this info from a very reliable source...

Paul,

my source is VERY credible...but will call dealer on tuesday for confirmation...

organising the mods are getting there slowly....
tints & CAI should definately be on.
i am waiting to hear the exhausts on Daz VY SS and Terry from MCE on his VE TT GTS at the cruise as they have dual 3" Xforce zorst!
plus waiting on some back to back testing on the defilipo dual 2.5" and dual 3" cat back bolt on by a forum sponsor...

waiting on the Tein Coilover kit to be released for the VE coz i will take that path instead of lowering springs...

big factor for the mods are what the insurance company will say as getting insurance for a 07 VE SSV at $55K for a 22year old with nearly 6years driving, a recent write off and a couple of traffic infringements is not as easy....:cussing:

then i called my mate at WA Suspensions regarding the Tein Coilovers for VE which are currently in R&D stage and probably due round August this year...

its Just Car Insurance.
was going to go for SGIO ($2480) but when i mentioned tints, exhaust, coilovers, etc they starting to hesitate and would insure it but the confidence wasnt there....
so after ringing some places then called Just Car...they came in at $1680 with unlimited mods...$800 saving and i told them everything bout my accidents, fines, etc...
they did say that as mods go on the premium might go up a little...like $20 or $50 extra a year but nothing too drastic.

i know there excesses are quite large...well not large they just added a car excess of $1K on top of standard excess and age excess but i dont mind and its not an issue if i dont have a at fault claim.

A few years back when I rang Just Car to insure the Grange the guy on the other end asked me some questions about the car and when he found out it was 250kw he said no we cant insure that. Dean... My dealer is trying to "wrangle" on that is currently in the system. Apparantly he and the Holden State Manager are looking for a car that is already ordered (for stock) that they can "take hold of".. That way it speeds up the dilevery. I am told as of yesterday they *may* have found a suitable donor, just checking the specifics. SO - I got an order number yesterday for that vechicle.. Don't know your history but these guys were mega bucks below the others... and the prices you just mentioned.... and my history aint spotless.....

yeah tried them and they wouldnt touch me. they said $1895 then they said they wont cover me
also tried RAC who insured my clubby and they wouldnt touch me. thought they might want to recover some of the costs after the write off but they werent keen at all.

the Just Car policy is cheaper than what the clubby ($1958) was and the VE is insured for $20K more and the added at fault claim of the clubby write off...so to me for my situations its a good deal

thanks for that info terry and for the offer to use your machine.
not sure if i will polish the aluminium bit of the CAI or powder coat in black to give it more of a stealth look...

the only thing that bugs me is the BLUE silicone bend and join...it just stands out soo much...would prefer a black one but Dan said he looked but couldnt find some in black...

thinking in a dual 3" Xforce cat back system with quad tips to fill up the rear gap...

Can I add my 2 cents. I have had several accidents not at fault and have seen the workmanship of several repairers that the insurers send you to.
Yes they are cheaper but from the last accident i had I will only go for an insurer that has your choice of repairer providing you have one you trust. The extra cash you pay is piece of mind imo and after have the last car back at the panel beater several time for crappy workmanship i'm happy to pay the extra amount....I have one car with Budget Direct who have choice of repairer and on with CGU who also have choice of repairer, premiums are competitive with the other players even slightly lower.

dont know mate...i called, told them everything, got price, paid for it with credit card and within 10min my brother rings me and tells me Certificate of Currency just came out of our fax at home. :deal:

Will send Dave a pm and see what he knows...

Paul:
nice work on the car.
if all goes well when will you get it?

outfit to match the black...who said you will in the photo with the car???:p
just kidding mate :lmao:

:driving:

I can't be IN the car and take PHOTO's of it at the same time. I was pertaining to the "cruise" uniform.. ;) Trust me i would not want to steal any of your glory with your new shiny beast..

Delivery, not had anything firm, what i might do is see if the order number they have given me has progressed into a Nickel SSV - otherwise it's back to the end of the queue for me..

Good thing though is my plates will be here before the car, so I won't need to go changing them when it Finally does get here.

And - Just as a question to be put out there... Who services the SS, SSV's, etc. Do you all go to Holden, or a more trusted Workshop?

point taken mate and know where you are coming from
that side is checked out too as i have a chose of repairer as well so no issue there.
i had a small prang a year back and told the assessor that i wanted it to be repaired by XYZ he said no worries but i still have to put it out into the system and as long as he is not very expensive i will approve.
told the repairer and he quoted a reasonable price as he knew what they roughly expect in terms of $per hour for labour, parts, etc...he won the job and car was repaired

The_Senator:
good idea on the cruise uniform...might have to cash in my $300 worth of holden merchandise goodies so i can look the part too...now only if HRT will release there 2007 stock!!!

no good about the delivery.
wouldnt it have been probably quicker just to order new from the start....its generally only a 4week wait unless sunroof and dvd involved then it can be 6week+ wait....

yeah my plates arrived long time ago...they might even be forming surface rust sitting at the DPI...:lmao:

well my car will have the 3000km free service done by Holden...
the 15,000km done by Holden as its a freebie
but will be doing service at 9000km and then after 15000km will be doing every 7500km elsewhere. not sure yet...have a couple of places in mind...

tried to call dealer yesterday and left a message as he was with customer.
didnt get call back yesterday.

got a call this morning from my novated lease company saying they called dealer to find out whats happening with car as they were gonna pay for it today so i could pick it up...and he got told that it hadnt arrived yesterday nor had it come in today!!!! :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

call dealer and says not sure if its in...could be in the back with the stock and will check with stock manager. checks computer system while i am on the phone...system says will arrive at dealership on 22/4!!!

if that is correct it means the car was built on the 4/4..sat around for 8 days and left on the truck on 12/4...to arrive here on the 22/4...
22/4 is a sunday so should get here monday 23/4...so pick up next tuesday or wednesday!!!

waiting on email reply from distribution manager at holden to reply to dealer on WTF is going on. :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

now time to call Holden Customer Service again and this time this call wont be a nice calm one like last time.

man that chain of communication sure is breaking down somewhere along the lines.

That's gotta be pretty deflating for ya mate. Do ya reckon when you do get it that you will let your car near them again??

I dont understand why it is so hard to say a delivery time and actually deliver on that day. Its not as if selling and delivering a car is something that is rarely done. How many cars do they need to sell, produce, ship etc for them to get a timeline that is accurate ffs!!!

If people put clauses in their contract, that if the car wasnt delivered on the agreed date that the sale would be cancelled how many delays there would be.

thanks for the advice and i have calmed down as i know the lady on the other end at Holden Customer Service isnt responsible...so i aint gonna make her day stressfull by me yelling at her...i am currently on the phone with them

but after the first fcuk up you would think that this one would go smooth...
it aint a day or two delay its 8 days...

it wont ruin my experience and i will enjoy the car just as much

LS1Grange:
thanks mate too.
the incompetence has got me really p1ssed
deflating.....like you wouldnt believe...this is the second fcuk up on the second car!!!
i will deal with the dealership still as this is out of there control.
if he said to me oh yeah its actually here but its been sitting in the stock area then i would be going off at them...but they dont even have the car!

i have insurance paid for to start from today....
have car booked in for tints, hard wire radar detector, etc on the weekend.
was going to be booked in for lowering next week before the cruise too

from when the dealer gets the car you take 10days off and thats when the whole delivery process is supposed to start...now it doesnt take 10 days to drive a truck from SA to Perth...but its the allowance they have just incase it doesnt get on truck till a few days after, to organise paperwork or if the driver is a little slow or truck issues...that i understand.

but it was supposed to be here on the 14/4!!! which is a saturday...but dealer said he wont see it till 16/4 (yesterday) as deliveries arent done on weekend....FAIR ENOUGH
so that gives them not just 10 days but 12days...

i just hope that this car comes here in a near perfect condition as possible...
if there are scrapes under the front spoiler, scratches, etc...then i am gonna absolutely fcuken flip

sorry bout the rant ppl but its blow after blow

Not that it helps how you feel, but it probably isn't even Holden's fault your car is taking so long to get here. They rely on transporters the same as everyone else, and the transporters are flat out. It's frustrating but once you're in your new car this will be long forgotten. Enjoy it when you finally get to drive it.;)

if the transport company was gonna be delaying then considering its the second car and if they cared about customer satisfaction they would have sent it through another company or on the train instead of the truck or something...even if it cost more as word of mouth is more valuable than a couple of hundred dollars less profit to transport through other means

Oh Dean.. I am shattered for you.. Truly unfathomable that it has come to another delay for no given reason.

I would be crushed by this latest blow, and can undertand your annoyance. Makes me wonder why they give "delivery dates" as they seem to just be that, a date that nothing special will happen on.

I'm about to contact my dealer as well, as there seems to be something a little fishy with what they are telling me. I hope it is not a case of De-ja-Vu.

Anyway, I feel bad enough for you, so i am thinking that your level is even lower / worse. Here is hoping that it was a simple mistake and it rocks up tomorrow at the dealership. Remember those delivery dates seem to mean nothing!

All the best, chin up and remember you'll get yours LONG before mine arrives!

Let us know how you go with what actually happened. Just as a matter of interest all Holden's vehicles come over by train. They are trucked to Adelaide railhead, arrive in Kewdale, and then trucked to the dealer. A lot revolves around availability of rail carriages as well as trucks. Either way you would think this vehicle would have priority in the light of what's happened.

At least when you finally get your bum in the seat it will be a wait worthwhile. :yahoo: Pity the mods have to be rescheduled though. I feel for ya.

See my post, similar to yours, 2 weeks nearly from Sydney to Melbourne.

Dealer could do nothing, Holden Customer Service could do nothing.

To be realistic ...
Add a week on to your expectation from what the dealer has told you today.

Your car may sit at the transport yard for a day or 2 before getting to your delivery dealer, this is common.

BUT ... all the pain will go away when you sart it up and drive off. :driving:

Good luck.

UPDATE TIME:
got a call back from Holden Customer Service
apparently from the 4/4 to the 12/4(day it left for transit) it takes about 12days to get to the perth metro area.
the explanantion for it to take 8days to leave the factory..apart from easter long weekend is there are "QA checks done" after it gets off the production line.

apparantly transit is as follows:
Plant --> Compound --> SA Rail --> Kewdale, WA -->dealership

so they are expecting it to arrive at Kewdale on Friday...and truck company will probably pick up on monday which means as per talk with dealership yesterday wont get it till thursday as wednesday is public hol....

heres hoping it gets to the dealership on friday morning!!! so i can have it for tuesday arvo

oh well just have to wait now...nothing can be done...just bend over and take it as they say

the AUTOBIOGRAPHY for the VE in the mail today with a letter about the sat nav not available and fit from 25 June...and i bet like everyone else on the forum i will have the sat nav in the car when i get it.

lock nuts with covers
cargo net with clips
radiator shroud
boot lid liner

and on the way back to work driving down the terrace...there was a truck with new cars on it so i put the foot down on the patrol to catch it just in case my car was on it on the way to the dealer....

I see a name change too - now you and your car are "one"..

Big congrats to you.. Really happy that your drama's have finally come to an end - and you are about to take posession of your new "baby"

Best of luck for Thursday.....

was past there after my gym session last night too trying to see it as the custom plates would have been on and i could have spot it from a mile away.
couldnt see it as i think it was tucked in the workshop...although the sale ppl still there packing upn to go home were looking at me funny as i stalked the yard

the name changes suits me better now....:serenade:
i think the drama will come to an end when i have the keys in my hand and i have looked over the car so there is no scratches on paint, rims or under the front spoiler and everything else is fine..

doing some extra hours today and start early on thursday so i can leave to pick it up early from North City and then over to City Motors where my mate should have all the bits ready from me as most had to come from over east... :driving:

sqeeze in some mods on saturday and should be right for the cruise on sunday...except will be in 4wd height mode until mate comes back from holiday to lower it

Congrats Dean.. See, now all the waiting is but a faded memory.

Great meeting you this afternoon also - i sorta got the "before" look at your car in it's "before" guise.. Before MODS that is.. I eagerly await your tint to see how dark it is...

John - the weather has been so unpredicatable of late that i would worry about the weather on Sunday when it comes around. Before then it really is speculation on the weather front... My prediction is for early drizzle followed by fine weather... :driving:
