Hi all.

Just ordered my CAI, full zorst going on next week and want to get it tuned up. Im runing the A6 and want a engine tune, and a shift improvment. Ive spoken to Chipmaster and Active autos and they are not sure if they can do it..

Anyone know any reupatable shops to do it?

Cheers

I would say the same. WA Performance get Street Tuna to do tunes when he comes to WA so it might pay to call them and see when the next trip is planned. I think it won't be far away...

I know some other forum members have been to Formula Tech in Bibra Lake...

Yeah probably talk to WA performance and see when the next tuning trip is on...

When is the last time you spoke to chipmaster? I thought Dan had tuned some VE's. I am sure I read about his tuning in Uncle Tones "is maf the new mafless?" thread.

Go see at Chipmaster he is local and very competent VE's won't be a problem for Dan.

NOT SURE IF I CAN DO IT ??

I can do it , been holding off doing the 6 speed until we have completely explored the shift dynamics though , went and bought our own VE SSV A6 so we could do devlopment on it so the customer can reap the rewards rather than being guniea pigs .

Been doing heaps of VE's , even blown ones.

Testing has begun on the A6 , done 100km run in :)

Intake , exhaust mods as well as lowering and brakes are in the pipeline

Mine must be a dud though , only made 187 rwkw - about what I expected really on a accurate dyno , manuals have been averaging the 205 rwkw before tuning.

does that mean you're going to sell the Monaro and make way for a new Project VE? :)

Hi Dan.

I spoke to you a few weeks back on the day you picked up your car. Dont be worried about the power output, mine got its ringseal at about 2500 and it made alot more power, so yours might do the same (i suggest you will be chanign settings before you get to this many kms).

My bro in law Peter Veersma from Welshpool autos said your the man for the tuneup. How have you gone with the trans mods? My car is booked into andys exhaust werks in a week or so, and i got a CAI comming, so if you rekon you got the trans tune up right let me know and book me in mate.

cheers

Hey Pete

Is that Andy's Exhaust in Carlisle?? Because i was supposed to be heading in there soon for advice on exhaust setup (SSV too...but mine is M6). Can you let me know what setup you get and how it sounds?

In regards to the tune...im looking to get this done afterwards too....so if chipmaster have some results to post, im interested in seeing them.

Cheers

Thats right... Andy is a bit of a guru, does alot of the drag racing scene, roll cages, chassis mods n stuff. he is a good mate of mine so thats why i am going there. going to go for pacemaker headers, lukey race mufflers 2.5 inch stainless pipe. will see how it goes. Just wanting to see how daniel gets on with the box tune up and then im in... cant wait... get rid of the slush box..

i'd go for a tuner that is available at all times for a tune, and touch ups as more mods are done.

Dan is very experinced, so is ST, but dan actually lives in WA

I would definitley reccomend Delco/Daniel from Chipmaster. Has a reputation second to none.

PS, saw the EFI TUNER mobile drive past the other week looking pretty second hand! :( Hope shes all fixed up now!

Dan just a quick query.... is the displacement on demand option on the new 6 litre engines. I was told it only had to be activated like you activated the lean cruise mode in my Adventra??? Just want to either build or squash this rumour....

Cheers

Dan did my car, and helped me sort out the troubles when i lost oil pressure to, he differently knows his stuff when it comes to tuning. Stay away from a place in bibra lake which offers VE Commy tunes etc, he did my mates Vz clubby, and the auto came out clunking and shifting at wrong times, and the trac off light was one all the time, and with all the stuffing around trying to get it fix got know where with this company.
you probably remember my mate Dan (think you flashed it back to standard tune)

Your mate is also on the way to getting his issue sorted as well - shifts like a stocker again now
