looked at a VZ R8 clubby today with 42000lm on her, noticed some of the window rubbers were fading and on start up small engine lifter rattle(guessing its due to not being started for a week and the alloy engine, also when he gave it a stab(stationary) some smoke came out the exhaust(only when he revved it) im color blind so i couldnt really tell if it was blue or black, exhaust tip certainly was black and i had black shit all over my finger when i touched the inside of ex tip!
Build date was 11/04, but the car was purchased 10/05 and rego 11/05, thought this was strange as well... had regular service stamps...
window rubbers + build and purchase date + smoke = me nervous buyer!
any thoughts
thanks

well mate my advice is if things dont add up and at the end of the day its not exactly a small amount of cash to get a VZ R8 i would leave it and keep looking.
if your not sure then dont get it...you dont want to regret buying it later coz you werent sure and bought it anyway...thats my advice anyway but your money your choice.
good luck with whatever you decide

Simply old stock.....think back to all that 10K plus discounting that was prevalent back 0/4 ...0/5..........I'm certain if you were to hunt around you'd also find anumber of 06 plate HSV's awaiting proud new owners..:driving:
Black smoke after sitting is pretty damn par for the norm ,from my daily observations around the auction yards :) ..more so after constant start / 5 minute idle then switch off with no long drives
 Sign nothing till the items you are concerned about have been written into the sales contract.....on no account accept the old....*she be right mate,we'll sort it* routine.
