The HSV Calais gets a mention, as does the fact that the VE was the first holden with a 6 speed manual!!:teach:

OMG ... that was shit.

So they test cars and are supposed to know what they are doing ... then they throw in "it's been a while since I've driven a manual".

Clearly professionals ... and the opinion on the "HSV Calais" was from someone he works with !!! What a couple of tools.

There is no structure to their review, as they think of things that just start talking crap about it. They repeat themselves more times than I can count. Nubs sums them up perfectly.

Thats a little harsh, and also misleading. I dont do his phones for starters!!

Timbo, we freely admitt to being novices when it comes to all of this... We are certainly on a steep learning curve, however why cant we still enjoy motoring like the rest of you guys. We dont need to be fanatics. Id suggest you look at the Carpice we took for a test drive on YouTube. I think its a lot better then the SS attept. Keep the abuse comming though, its the only way we can learn more!

Yes thats right we dont work for Wheels of Top Gear, we are just 2 blokes that love out cars, we do lack knowledge on all the tech details and history of every model and make. Yes there are some stuff ups, but insular people like you forget that in general most people are not as mad about cars as you. They dont care about all the boring detail you guys go on with. Calm down mate, its a hobby for us. Id like to hear what you have to say about our Caprice review, also on YouTube, i think its a little more polished...

short answer... no they don't

Not compared to your wealth of knowledge obviously!! Go to seeitdive.com, there are some others you might not be as critical about.

Research never hurt anyone :)

Maybe before you do your next review you could spend at least half an hour reading about the car, then maybe you would not get sh*t slung at you.

Just and idea and I am not being rude just suggesting something :)

I think it was a good effort Chris, I think people need to take it in the context of what it is, a couple of blokes having a go at passing on their opinion by doing car reviews.

Welcome Chris, not a bad effort mate. Most other people would freeze up when trying to talk on camera.

Please dont pay too much attention to all the KEYBOARD WARRIORS on here mate, 99% of forum members are very nice people.

Opinions are like assholes, every one has them...

Thanks mate, I wasn’t really offended. I’m new to these kinds of forums, and to tell you the truth I enjoy the slanging matches that go on!!

Keyboard Warriors, I like that. Thanks anyway. Gee we did make some blues in that SS review though. We did it all in one day, if that’s any consolation!!

Thanks, just starting in this caper... Will try and read the "I’m across every Holden fact and trivia" encyclopaedia tonight.

HHmmmmm.....

2 people can start a website and do new car reviews without really knowing what the hell their talking about - but actually be supplied new cars to test !!

 Wheres Dreamweaver and a dodgy camcorder...

Cheers Paul,

I wouldn't even call it an "Effort" for some one to go out and make a review on a new car and not attempt to get any info on the subject, except a "workmate" and I havne't driven a "manual for a while", doesn't give them much credit for a review.
I agree with everty one else, very poorly done and no effort was put into a so called VE Review.
Maybe in future the guys can get more info technical and expereienced before they air anything they want to show.
It was ok for the first 10 sec.

I hope that's a link to videos of submarines......

not a link to an animated VE resale value chart!! :cussing:

Hey these guys put in allot more effort than most. Some not bad video editing, good camera work from the back of the car etc. more than " I test drove a VE today " type threads. Yes research would and could of been allot better, but they gave it a go..:serenade:

I'm sure these blokes will take on board our constructive criticism and do some homework before the next review.

And Seedy, good spotting mate, they might need to change that too.

I think next time we obviously need to do it in a more structured fashion, instead of basically adlibbing the whole thing. Keep in mind the concept of the whole thing, it’s supposed to be simple, not full of boring details 99 per cent of potential new car buyer’s dont care about. For example most people (outside of this forum of course!!) are only aware there is a new Commodore on the market, its surprising how many blank looks you get when you tell someone "I've driven the new VE today". We are not as astute as all you guys, but does that stop us from being car lovers? NO!
