Hi Peoples,

I am trying to authenticat a Helmet that I was given on my last birthday...

It is a Peter Brock helmet from the Mobil Era... (probably Sierra)

I have also sent these details to Lewis Brock from the Peter Brock foundation, a contact at WHEELS/MOTOR and I will also try Aria to see if they kept records of ther serial numbers...

The leather chin strap appears to have the date 04/89 embossed into it.

From the lables inside has:
This Helmet meets or exceeds ANSI STD Z90.1-1971
Serial No AT090414
Manufacturer Arai Helmet Ltd Saitama Japan
T8133 -1982
No. 364017
No. 01-445273
Head Size L
7 1/4" - 7 3/8" (59 - 60 cm)

Any photos of Peter wearing or holding this helmet would be nuch appreciated.

David

I have searched the net, contacted sporting memorobilia stores, auction houses, and the Blue forums, all with no luck so far...

I would post a picture but I need to get to 10 posts first... :-(
I will come back and update the thread with a picture later.

Is that from his BMW days?

I think of is from his f.o.r.d. days going on the chin strap date (04/89)...

But if he is wearing it in a BMW, then even better :-)

The Brock helmet that you have, were prizes that could be won from a select group of Mobil servo's, across the country.
I believe it was about 1991, Brock & his PR train come through signed autographs & drew the Helmet which i won.
Being a big Brock fan in those days i kept the helmet which now resides at Peter Champions Brock Museum.
Brock himself was more interested in my HG 350 than my VL group A.
