Hey guys just wondering what sort of fuel consumption the guys are getting with the the GenTT kits... Also what other mods are you running as well??
My VU SS M6 with 222/224 cam with 333rwkw (very safe conservative tune as it has 168,000k's) is roughly getting 18-20L/100 city driving (Brisbane) and probably around 14-15L/100 highway...
Seems very high from what others have said/heard..

Very nice result 333rwkw. I wouldn't worry about fuel consumption...just tyre consumption. Sound's good to me as I get similar consumption around town and slightly better on the open road with 85rwkw less and no FI and a lot less torque.
I assume by safe tune it's a little rich and less timing in which case still sounds OK...remember you need more fuel to make more power.

clubbie - The torque is insane pulls hard thru all the gears and i have a rev limiter set at 5500rpm as the 168thou on my clock, hence the very safe tune (Could be a few more degrees timing in there and i forgot about the fuel figures).. Could be up around the 360-380rkw mark but i dont want my motor to go bang, and least it can hold its life for a lot longer this way..
Trust me 333rwkw may not seem a great deal but until you feel the way twins kick in its incredible :driving: :yahoo:
Couldnt imagine all the other boys out there with 350rwkw+ that would just be insane :p

Standard LS1 - 10 - 11L/100km on the highway, 15 - 16L/100km city driving, depends on the type of city driving your talking too.

LL - City driving (Brisbane) wouldnt be as bad as Melb/Syd but its bad enough averaging about 15-25kph stop starting every 100m or so..
So mines pretty much in the ballpark then with cam etc??

What figures were you getting before the twins were fitted? :deal:
Enjoying the new found grunt wouldn't help either...

My TTR VX averaged around 9.8 - 10.2 on the open freeway roads to Canberra, close to 14.5/16 through the city, and around 60 - 90l/100km on the track :)
On the other hand the Gen-TT VE sits on 12.9 - 13.5l/100km most days and sometimes heads towards 16l/100km when it gets test driven....hard :)
The reality is that fuel consumption shouldnt be any different than stock unless you are using the extra power :teach:

BAD355 - Before that i just had the 222/224 comp cam, 3.9s, twin 2.5in, OTR etc so it was 10-11L/100 highway and almost the same 12-13ish city..
But yeh the right foot doesnt help when u hear the spooling up..
But other then that im not that nasty on the right foot as some would imagine having a TT kit thou
Tuna - Thats exactly right, the kit is faultless and the custom tune is perfect, couldnt and wouldnt ask for a better FI kit that goes hard and healthy on a 168,000k motor....
How long will it last, only time will tell, and ill try prove some of you guys up as to how long it lasts :teach:

I drive mine on the Pacific everyday at 7am and take the exit near Greenslopes, make the return journey about 4pm. I do drive mine pretty hard and average in the 15's. Mine does have a soft conservative tune as well being a mail order.
As for yours being in the ballpark, no idea, I'm not a tuner, Street_Tuna or Voodoo :lmao: might be able to help you out there.
Taking yours to the LS1 Nats?

i should get some sort of record/prize for producing an LS1 with that many K's on it with a GenTT kit and still going strong... Come on Martin what have you got for me LOL
LL - would love to go and see, but i havent got the funds or time to get off work for them.. Wouldve been better if i was living in Benalla (country vic) still and not Loganholme :serenade:

i filled up my tank this morning and reset trip computer, it was down to half a tank by lunch time and trip was showing 95km and 27L/100km
This was jetsetting all over sydney for work with all my work stuff in the back and ladders on the ute. Mods are 3.9 diff and gentt

Dont feel bad sikhabib....ex-moderator here Redline used to average 24l/100km consistently in a STOCK VY SS :)
And Doughy? How does 29 - 32l/100km sound from a stock VX GTS
Sorta depends how you drive :)

ex moderator? I thought he was still around? :)
I average about 18L/100km but am running 60lb injectors that are very hard to control at idle and don't have any O2 sensors so have none of the usual fuel saving controls enabled

hmmm & here i am a basic bolt on getting nothing under 16-17L/100k ... but i guess that comes down to how you drive ... i'd feel better getting 16-17 if the reason was too hissing snails in the engine bay

sounds about right. i'm averaging 17-18ltrs/100kms cruising around the burbs with the occasional bootfull and i also have the 60lb injectors. was getting 14-15 when i first picked the car up but not sure if the increase is cos of the tune or if my driving style has changed somewhat:driving: :yahoo: ;)
must be all over the road being a ute. congrats and enjoy:thumbsup:

25l/100.......27l/100 before TT
Although I'll be getting exceptional fuel economy for the next six months :bawl:

Actually it was about 24L/100km with the 224/228 @ 114LSA Cam
Stock was around 20L/100km
With the Gen-T it was around 18L/100km
Average speed was around 25-30 km/h so "genuine" city driving ;)
Thirsty thing it was :driving:

Right now I'm getting great economy - the car is off the road to get the headers etc HPC coated.
I've been getting between 17 and 20 l/100km around town, which is about 10% higher than I was getting stock. I'm pretty impressed with that, because I've been giving it plenty.
At cruise I'm getting better economy than stock. The Chipmaster custom tune reduced the idle & cruise fuel consumption compared with the supplied mail order tune.

In my One Tonner I was getting 16 to 18l/100 city driving and the best I got on the hwy was 9.9l/100 on a trip to the ACT.
I think i'll be using more now that Sonny has his hands on it. I cant wait to get it back!

would the 60lbs injectors be overkill for my 333rwkw tune that ill be sticking with, can i drop down to 42lbs or even 50's?
And would that help somewhat to the fuel usage..

42's will support your 333, but you shouldn't need to step down to get good economy. I've got Siemens 60's and I'm using much less fuel than you, and the other turbo guys seem to be getting better economy so I'm sure it can be rectified.

yea that was me i remember seeing you to
i was coming home from fishing, i left my boat at my mates so i could do a bit more fishing on the way home but in the ute this time :D
Those GTRs were fun but i knew they were undersize cause they werent giving me any fight lol
today i had to fill up again but this time i was blown away at how good on petrol the ute was. i was still getting into it pretty oftern but managed to get 380km out of 57L. Dash computer said 18.6l/100km but when i worked it out from the pump it was around 15L/100km
Put this down to doing abit of freeway driving and i also fixed up my tune alot since last tank
