I need to replace my clutch while my cam goes in next week and the motor will be out I would like either a Centerforce (have heard good things) or a Tex (also heard good things) if I go Tex I need one ASAP .I tried to PM Plan B but his box is full ,anyone in Perth supply the Tex's and also which Tex is best for 300rwkw ish and the odd hammering at the track.
Cheers:thumbsup:

You didnt search did you :stick:
TEX is the way to go and have been used in 1000hp cars.. your 300rwkw is childs play for it. See Mitch at WA Perf as he has stock.

With low revs engaging 1st my tex has slight shudder it is an X-Grip. But I am still very happy with it, especially when you want to haul ass it really responds well.

Might be a dumb question but here goes,
Are the Tex clutches any heavier than the standard clutch? Do they use the original pressure plate?
Assuming x-grip for the purposes of my question...

Cheers,
If by heavier, you mean pedal feel, then they are slighty heavier then stock, but nothing you couldn't quickly get used to.
Compared to other HD clutches, this is light :)
A machine matched pressure plate comes with the clutch.

Does anyone else know anything about centreforce clutches and how they compare to textralia clutches?
I've heard tex clutches shudder and centreforces don't.Can anyone verify this? Do centreforces work as well as a tex clutch?
I'm obviously looking at a new clutch, but am not sure which way to go.
Cheers.

I have a Centreforce in my blown monaro , never slipped or shuddered yet , I have driven a lot of other cars that shudder on takeoff if you dont give it a heap of herbs

We have the X Grip now with Carbon Kevlar for silky smooth engagements. It's a lot more durable than other brands... Ask Big Jim.

They are a bit heavier than standard, but my missus drives mine with no dramas for long periods of time, and she isnt a big girl, though she whinges about it, but still loves it :) Tex is definitely the go...

Mate, I'm still recovering from spinal surgery, PlanB made me up an X-Grip with light springs. It is a light as a 6cyl clutch. Lighter than a stock LS series clutch, and holds really well.
I was at Chev's on sat, he got in and said 'standard clutch hey!' she's goin..
Before he started it, I old him it was a Tex..... he remembered reading about my back and pete building me one. Said that my Tex is really light.
There ya go. If ya need something, ask for it. PlanB will bend over backwards to help you out mate.

Amen to that. Plan B helped me out heaps, well above and beyond the call of duty.:teach:
Can the same be said for Centreforce? How does their after sales service compare?
You don't just buy a clutch from Textralia, you get a mate chucked in for free!!
As for my experience with my Tex, it did have some shudder, but I eventually learned to use the clutch properly, and drove round it no problems.
For me it was reassuring to know that the Tex was there. It gives you confidence in your drivetrain, so if you wanted to beat the hell out of it, you could and have no nasty surprises. You could slip it at 5000rpm all the way through first gear if you wanted to, and the pedal would feel the same next time you pushed it. Great product and great after sales backup.
