3 window dash cluster

Hi guys Im looking at putting an HSV dash cluster into my VY1 SS, I was wondering what trip functions the 3 window HSV's actually have?

If you buy one secondhand, make sure it's a series 1 version, as series 2 have different plugs.

are they plug and play though? I thought tech 2 needed to program something to allow the other 2 windows to activate, but I might be wrong?

It will fit straight in. Didn't know about the series 2 difference, learn something everyday cheers. But as mentioned Tech 2 will be required to enable the functions. Holden shouldn't charge too much for this I would think.

Try reading your manual it explains it in there.

Are you going for a hsv 250 one? does your car go that quick? seriously make sure its a manual dash as you dont want to end up like the one guy with the auto lights always on in the dash, aparantly holden couldnt turn them off.

why not go all out, put vz ss dash in, your a sparky you can rewire the plugs.

Just look at your rear window and dial the number.

do you know if it will have a digital tacho all the time if you activate police mode? i know it will give the digital speedo but curious about the tacho.

Digital speed and Digital RPM can be displayed on 3 window trip computers when in diagnostic mode. Police mode will disable your overspeed alert for good.

Thanks, i knew that one as i have it done on my single window ss, was just curious as to if revs could activated in the same manner.

Yes i believe it goes through most of them all, just give it a try and if you cant figure out what is what check your manual, All of the functions should be in your manual i believe.


I have just got a price on a 3 window dash new at 430 retail, it is from the hsv senator. and it needs to be programed with tech 2 as mentioned above to get all the functions working properly. and to calabrate it as they are a 250km/h dash.

the 3 window shows all the same stuff as the berlina clais stato dash's as i have just sold a lv4 WK GRANGE dash that i had in my ss ute and is a manual, tech 2 changes it from auto to manual, police packwith trap speed, seat belt warning, but if its a s1 make sure you get the s1 cluster otherwise its $400 for a s2 fuel sender to get the fuel gauge and km's to go working properly

Also make sure you don't go over 100km for distance travelled on the clock cause if you do you wont be able to change it to your current kms that your car has done.

One would assume that when/if you have to get it setup with tech 2 they would make that adjustment for you.

in my case it wouldnt bother me to much as i keep my cars for ages, my last car i had for 12 years, and i plan on keeping my current car for 10 years min.

Don't think it is plug and play in the VY's

One would assume that when/if you have to get it setup with tech 2 they would make that adjustment for you.
