Has anyone seen them on one??
Has anyone got a picture they can post???
Can anyone make one on the computer and post it???
I'm not saying i'm going to do it. Just thinking about it.
Happy days
Marty
My personal opinion - they cheapen a really nice looking vehicle

The HSV VE does not need it mate - spend your cash elsewhere. Seriously I have to agree with MOJO on this in that it will cheapen it in terms of looks.
Don't do it IMO but thats just my 2cents.:)

Don't do it!! Aaaaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhh!!!!
E series will only be cheapened by stripes. Your car looks great as is without them! :yup:

I'm looking after a VE GTS at the moment (owner overseas). It is a silver colour with black strips down the bonnet and roof. Most people who I show hate the stripes...personally I like the idea of stripes (it is a muscle car after all) but it really depends on what colour combination you go as to wether they look good or not

I see you mention the term "muscle car" well I am afraid to say that they are popping up on less. There is a guy who has just chucked them on a sv6?? the more this happens the less they appeal to me. I also dont like the way the holden stripes finish on the boot & bonnet, I like the ones that travel the whole length of the car but thats just me

Stripes are definitely coming back though, on a few Euro and US cars, and on FPVs, and now as a Holden option... not long til HSV uses them I reckon.

I have only seen one Holden that I think it works on, and that is one of the forum members here who has a white SS with black stripes. Otherwise they are bilious.

I agree with Gasguz....they are going to lose the appeal if we start seeing them on SV6's too. I dont mind the stripes on some of the SS/SSVs....red/black and white/black combos have looked the best.
Seriously Holden...why dont you limit what models can have things like this added. To allow 6cyl Commodores to have racing stripes is pretty ordinary....just to make an extra $295 on the purchase price...cmon! You can pretty much buy an SV6, throw racing stripes on add the 20" rims and you wouldnt tell the diff to the SS model. Take off the SV6 badge and they're laughin.
I hope Holden dont allow anyone to buy the SSV light assembly to to gain some extra $$$.
They are taking away the gloss of those who spend a fortune on more expensive models.
In response to ForestJim...i was similar to yourself...couldnt decide on stripes when i bought mine (i only have an SSV though...not your kick a$$ GTS haha). I decided to go with Phantom black paint and red/black leather interior including the red dash. This made my decision easier not to have stripes. Im sure your GTS has a coloured dash...correct me if im wrong? Therefore I wouldnt get stripes because it may conflict...what colour combo do you have?

Hey Boys,
I'm in my 40's. I grew up with strips on cars. Hto's Gts (Fords holdens and others). They all had them all through the model range.
Even the cheaper models. I also own a 1970 Capri bought it about a year ago, one owner log books with 34k on the clock. This is the base model and it has stripes on it and look great. (also put on the Supa Roo decals)
I think its a fashion thing with a lot more cars going for the retro look ( Minis, Fords Etc)
I dont know if the current stripes are correct for my car. My car is red and black stripes would be ideal combo.
I like the strips on the Gt Fords.
I would love to see some sort of strips combo on a HSV but It's maybe not me me who tries it.
Each to their own and it would be a pretty boring world if we all liked the same thing.
Have fun and thanks for your thoughts.

I did like them on the BAGT when they first come out. Then you would see them on all the cars which then just looked gay.
Once they start putting them on base models, they look awful !

I am a big fan of stripes.
I didn't like the holden stick on stripes until I seen the balck SV6 with silver stripes in the "my rides section" (bdzy88) I thought they looked great.
Heaps of people dont like the stripes on my Monaro when they see pictures but everyone who see's it in the flesh loves it.
(And yes, I just seen this as another opportunity to post a pic of my car).

Hey Marty
If you have a red GTS then the black stripes would look good. Even if you have the red dash, it still means you have continued a 2 colour theme over the exterior/interior
I was asking about the colours because my black SSV with red/black interior, the silver stripes would clash. You can see the red dash easily from the outside of the car, and hence the black paint, silver stripes and red interior would look crap!!
I would see if you can go to HSVi (i think thats what Holden refer to them as) and get some stripes placed on your car. As i said, i was in a similar situation when i was deciding, and if Holden dont provide pictures of how the optional extras look, then at least them can spare 5mins of their time to show you in person. Cant hurt in asking

Hi Diesel,
I just have the black dash. Some sort balck strips would look great. Maybe even some on the side???.
I will wait on that. Maybe someone who knows graphics could make them up and post them.
Hey, If you put strips on and you didn't like them you could always take them off.
Thanks for your thoughts.
CV8005.
Your can looks hot mate.
Thanks
