Need some advice....

Was on my way back from echuca today when I stopped to take a break and when I did and put my car into park the revs shot up to about 1500rpm, it was like I still had my foot on the accelerator.........I turned it off and when I came back and started up all was fine, but when I hit melb it was revving higher when I stopped at the lights and when I put it into park it shot back up again????? Is there a simple reason for this..... I know when I had my old MQ patrol 4X4 a mate tried a fancy solution to stop excessive mud and water getting into the filter and it ended up starving it and causing it to rev its guts out....could it be a similar thing, I have been up the Murray river a few times and it's quiet dusty up there and I haven't cleaned the filter since it was installed........

Haven't had that problem in any of my LS1's but have had it in my 2 WRX's, maybe the tune.
From what you've said, I would also check the air filter and see if it makes any difference after cleaning or replacing it.

I remember reading a thread in this forum sometime ago about a similar issue and the cause was the PCV hose had a small pin size hole. Don't know if it is the same problem, but you might want to check the hose.

Clean the IAC. There is often lots of a carbon type buildup and if it is sticking, can casue issues like your experiencing.
