All seems very quite about this one. Doesnt even seem to be any spy picts or anything floating around on the VE Ute.

I have owned a VY Maloo, a VZ Maloo, and would love to have a VE Maloo, i think my good wife has told me if another one is in the stable, she will be out, grrrrrrrrrr

It would be pleasing to know that Holden/HSV will sell shit loads as they are one of the most popular types of cars, knowing that must be good business.

I hope that they would go for a different format than the VE sedans, would be nice to see engine upgrade, cant see it though, twin turbo six would be nice.
Something different!!!!!

ve ute
- they are now based on the commodore platform, as opposed to the statesman. which means it will be shorter.
-it will be wider than before.
- the ve will have a space cab type area of a width of about 30cm, much like what the ba and current bf falcons have.
- the tray of the ve will be about 30cm shorter(see above)
- there will be abase model, an sv6, an ss(not sure if there will be an ss and ssv) i hope just ss as top of line holde.
- maloo will look very similar to the clubby. not sure if there is a maloo r8.
- ss models come with 18's
-maloo come with 19's supposedly optional 20's
- power outputs will be the same as sedans.

hope i helpd you out, cheers

VE wheelbase is longer than before. So will it really be much different overall?

Yeah, not sure about the rear tail lights! Don't really suit the ute!

You forgot to remove the GTS badge from the front spoiler. I sharp edges from the rear of the cabin down to the tray, hhhmmm, not sure either.

It's good to hear that the VE ute gets the extra cabin space behind the seats if this info is correct, it will pull my people from the ford utes that want this!

Cant wait to see one. I was talking to my local dealer yesterday and asked about the new ute and he said he was just informed that it would be onsale last quarter this year and the wagon is due for the first quarter next year. one of the other new car salesman heard this and came over to check and was told the same thing. ive allways thought the utes looked tougher then the sedans and in the form of VE they should be outstanding:yahoo: .

Looks to me like the tray height is not proportioned right?

agreed. the back just doesn't look right. angles look too sharp and the back to straight in my opinion.

Most likely we'll see the production ute, or near production ute (read: different paint and wheels) at October's Sydney motor show, with sales beginning not long after.

mid sept is release date. The inner tray wont be steel it will come with a plastic liner(same as AU-BF ute to save money)

Model line up will be

Base
