hi to all at harrop engineering .
i have recently assembled a 480 ci lsx short motor . Im looking to supercharge it . what would you recommend . ive been told the present hh series you have would be too small . i intend on running ls7 heads by gm or et performance heads .

Hi ...
I suspect the HH122 would struggle to get the best out of a 480ci, but we have something coming that will almost certainly be a suitable solution.
The bad news is that it will be at least a couple of months before the production version is released. We will be able to match LS1/2, L76, and LS7 heads. :yahoo:

Please explain? Some people may wait for this FI package instead of buying another, if they knew some more details:yahoo:

We have just completed a prototype of a product that will have its first "outing" in a couple of weeks. It will be shown in the USA & Aussie at the same time ... Harrop designed & built.

Based on the experiments and testing to date ... awesome!
I suspect some people may need to re-think their "physics" theories and reasons to unjustifiably claim that positive displacement superchargers are inferior. :deal: :teach:

Thanks ken for your reply .
the 480ci engine is going into a elfin streamliner . everybody is eagerly awaiting to see what sort of numbers she can pull with harrop supercharger fitted . im looking forward to see what sort of one lap dash times it can run.

Is this a resurrected TSK2300, a new Roots or something different again?

Ken

Would this 2.8 Litre handle a 500 CID 8 Litre engine ?

If so, what would you think the maximum boost would be with a 2.8 L on a motor this size ?

It is an entirely new design Roots-based 2300 (not 2800 ... yet).
The biggest it has been tested on yet is a wild 427ci ... It would be inappropriate for me to issue the results as it is being used in a GM Performance (USA) LSX 427 development project.

We have had to reduce rpm to keep the boost to below 15psi on my 402 with ~230 cam, but it may struggle to feed a 500ci.

Keep us posted with this Ken, we have a few fore months to go before the GM LSX tall deck is released around ..... September they tell us :)

Wouldn't hurt to have the the info a few months before then on what it would take to supply 10 psi for a 500ci, ATM everyones thinking turbo.

500ci 4L80e AWD with a 10 psi PD does sound :yahoo:

We have Lysholm 3.3's in stock, but they are a LOT taller and takes significantly more power to turn as it is a true compressor. Both products have their place.

I've been told that a twin screw is the ideal pd charger... why wouldnt you use twin screw? PM if I'm hi-jacking.

One of the main issues is the 3.3l doesn't fit under the bonnet.

It does is you slam the bonnet really hard:cussing:

Yes it needs another 5mm of space in there well thats for the whipple

Twin-screw probably was the PD of choice ... until now.

Very similar ... same height(ish). They are not interchangable tho' as the HTV outlet port is wider & longer. Ther share the same inlet adaptor bolt-pattern. The same intercooler cores, but we are developing a new radiator.
The kit still fits under the GTO hood ;)

Ken, any power figures with new blower on your 402ci engine?;)
I have been a little distracted of late (not work related :bawl: ) so I have not even done a real calibration. I will probably work on it next weekend to get some power-related data. With the very rough and ugly tune (complete with MAF) it has ... LOTS.

Any idea on the ETA of the new one - mid year like suggested or longer?

At this stage I am unwilling to commit to a timeframe as we are flat-out trying to keep up with demand of "current" products. It would be irresponsible of me to force my pet project through (again) when the guys are sweating blood to get through the existing orders.
I will say that it will not be in a production kit form before July.

did you get my messages Ken? Ive dropped in, PM'ed and called you but havnt heard back from you.

vhls2: There is no "kennebell" kit as such. KB make manifolds which dont work on any of our LS1's (cept a corvette kit). The photo's from the other thread just use a core from them but nothing KB actually manufacture.

Kenne Bell doesn't actually make the blower but produces the kit, there is a VZ getting one as we speak(2.8L vette kit) and they suit 98-04 LS1's.
As for pics on Harrop's site of the 2.3L I can only find 2 very partial pics, but I've still got one on my pc that Harrop has since removed from the site, why I dont know? Maybe coz it's a pic of the full setup????????????????

Hi Ken.
Will new blower be suitable for 427ci engine ??
Any testing results from US yet;)

We have hand-made a couple of LS7 manifolds (one for the US project), and we will be releasing an LS7 kit after the LS1/2/6 and L76/92.

Testing in the US has gone well, and impressively. They are now re-working the intake filter/duct as it was restrictive. I will not table any results until I have authorisation by GM performance.

Meanwhile ... We have done a little more testing with the HTV2300 on my car (402ci with very mild cam). Without spending much time at all, we have more than 410rwkw through the MAF. The potential is great, especially when we get some time and when 2-Bar'd.
