Have noticed that my front driver's tyre seems to be wearing a little unevenly so I went and got a wheel alignment done this afternoon and this is how it went...

half toe before: LH +0.2mm RH -.1mm
half toe after: LH +1.5mm RH +1.4mm

camber before: LH -1 24' RH -2 10'
camber after: LH -1 30' RH -1 46'

castor before: LH +8 51' RH +8 11'
castor after: LH +8 52' +7 16'

These numbers mean pretty much nothing to me so am wondering if anybody knows if settings prior to alignment would cause uneven wear?

Also I was told I should get an alignment done every 3 months or 5000 k's. This seems excessive to me as my previous car didn't have a wheel alignment the whole time I had the car, (5 years) and rubber was never an issue.

Can't help you with those figures, but if you're driving over really bumpy roads, heaps of speed humps and falling down every pot hole you see, you may need to get an alignment done every 5,000kms, but for most normal road users...10,000kms would be sufficient. I've never heard of this 3mth/5000km recommendation, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Never had an alignment on my VX SS and the tyres are wearing perfect.
I am not letting any of these alignment experts near mine when I am due for new tyres, I question how acurate some of these alignment machines are or maybe the skills of the operators, reckon if you went to a couple of different places you would get a different set of number each time, a bit like dynos. In the past on other cars I have had, once they have tampered with it I seemed to have been constantly back as the tyres never seemed to wear right.
There are probably good operators out there, finding one is the problem.
Maybe I have just been unlucky in the past.

That 2deg negative camber on the front right wheel would be causing excessive inner tyre wear. Is this what you were experiencing? You toe settings were also a little off as one wheel was pointing inwards and the other outwards marginally. But this would not really contribute to tyre wear significantly. Toe can scrub tyres VERY quickly but your numbers were nothing to worry about.

I am at a loss how the castor was modified as the factory caster/radius rod setup is non-adjustable???
